Pitcher Grind Down
- Cliff Lee – Lee continues to give up hits and he continues to pitch out of trouble for the most part. Lee has given up at least 8 hits in each of his first 4 starts this season. You have to think that teams are going to start stringing together some of these hits and for that reason I will be avoiding Lee in cash games. Rating =6
- Paul Maholm – Maholm has a 4.97 ERA with only 4 K’s over 12 innings pitched. He has very limited upside thanks to his low K-rate. Starting pitching is the most important part of daily fantasy baseball and you want to target pitchers that have more upside. Rating = 4
Batter Grind Down
Philadelphia
- Carlos Ruiz – Maholm gave up a .372 wOBA to RH batters last season and even though Ruiz is getting up there in years, he can still swing a bat. He is batting .444 against LH pitching this season and should be in the lineup tonight.
- Additional Plays: Jimmy Rollins
LA Dodgers
- Yasiel Puig – Puig hit a HR yesterday and has been excellent against LH pitching in his short time in the majors. Lee is giving up hits by the dozens these days and if Puig can be patient at the plate, Lee will give him something to hit.
- Additional Plays: Hanley Ramirez
Houston at Seattle

Pitcher Grind Down
- Dallas Keuchel – Keuchel has pitched well this season with a 3.50 ERA and 16 K’s over 18 innings of work. He is a less than appealing option tonight against the Mariners who have a revamped offense and have King Felix on the mound. Rating = 2
- Felix Hernandez – Hernandez is likely going to be the most popular cash game play tonight and for good reason. King Felix has a 1.91 ERA this season and a very impressive K/9 of 12.5. He is facing an Astros lineup that has already struck out 173 times this season which is the 4th most in baseball. Plays in daily fantasy baseball don’t get much easier than this. Rating = 10
Batter Grind Down
Houston
- King Felix will be dealing tonight. Avoid all Astros bats.
- Additional Plays: None
Seattle
- Robinson Cano – Even though this is a lefty/lefty matchup, Keuchel has not been great against LH hitters. Last season he gave up a .359 wOBA to LH batters and Cano is a lefty that can hit all types of pitching. Don’t shy away from him just because of the lefty/lefty matchup.
- Additional Plays: Corey Hart
