Pitcher Grind Down
- Wily Peralta – Peralta has enjoyed a very nice season thus far. He is sporting a 3.03 ERA with a 1.27 WHIP and a K/9 of 7.1. He draws a nice matchup tonight against the Mets who are ranked 26th against RH pitching this season. It also doesn’t hurt that he will be pitching in the pitcher-friendly Citi Field. Rating = 7
Salaries: $6700 FD, $16688 DS, $12750 DD, $7300 DK, $71500 FF, $21000 SS, $13700 FTD
- Jacob Degrom – Degrom has already made 4 quality starts in his young big league career. On the season he has a 3.19 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP and a K/9 of 8.1. Vegas has this game set as a pick ‘em with a total of only 7.5 runs. Degrom could make a nice tournament play against the Brewers.
Salaries: $6000 FD, $13297 DS, $13500 DD, $8000 DK, $75500 FF, $19700 SS, $9500 FTD

Milwaukee
Ryan Braun – I’m not crazy about any hitters in Citi Field tonight, but Braun has enough power to get it out of the ballpark. On the season he has a .367 wOBA against RH pitching.
Additional Plays: Jonathan Lucroy
New York Mets
There really aren’t any plays that stand out here. I don’t mind David Wright here, but there are a lot of good options at 3B tonight.
St. Louis at Tampa Bay

Pitcher Grind Down
- Michael Wacha – Wacha is coming off of a 1 strikeout performance against the Royals, but we will give him a pass as the Royals strike out fewer teams than any team in baseball. Tonight he faces the Rays who are ranked 21st against RH pitching. Wacha’s price is affordable and he has incredible upside. Rating = 8
Salaries: $8400 FD, $18650 DS, $17850 DD, $9900 DK, $113300 FF, $26400 SS, $15400 FTD
- Erik Bedard – Bedard is coming off of a terrific performance against the Mariners in which he struck out 8 batters over 6 scoreless innings. He gets another favorable matchup tonight against the Cardinals who are ranked 27th against LH pitching this season. Bedard is in play as a 2nd or 3rd starter on multi-pitcher sites. Rating = 6
Salaries: $5100 FD, $11907 DS, $12500 DD, $6200 DK, $61000 FF, $14400 SS, $9700 FTD

St. Louis
Allen Craig – Craig has struggled against RH pitching this season, but owns a .352 wOBA against southpaws. Craig has been hitting a lot of line drives of late and it’s only a matter of time before the hits start coming.
Additional Plays: Yadier Molina
Tampa Bay
There aren’t any recommended plays on the Rays tonight. Wacha has held both LHB’s and RHB’s under a .285 wOBA this season.
LA Dodgers at Cincinnati

Pitcher Grind Down
- Hyun-Jin Ryu – Through 11 starts this season, Ryu is sporting a 3.08 ERA with a 1.26 WHIP and a K/9 of 7.5. I like the matchup tonight against the Reds who are ranked 29th against LH pitching this season while striking out at a 23.0% clip. He may have a tough time getting the win with Cueto pitching opposite him, but makes a nice play on multi-pitcher sites. Rating = 7
Salaries: $8200 FD, $15906 DS, $12800 DD, $7900 DK, $99000 FF, $22500 SS, $16000 FTD
- Johnny Cueto – Cueto has given up 4+ runs in 2 of his last 4 starts. While that’s not necessarily alarming, it is something to monitor moving forward. When he is on his A-game, there isn’t an offense in baseball that he couldn’t pitch well against, but his recent form makes me want to look elsewhere for SP options, especially considering the matchup against the Dodgers who are ranked 4th against RH pitching this season. Rating = 7
Salaries: $9900 FD, $21750 DS, $18100 DD, $11400 DK, $104000 FF, $31700 SS, $16500 FTD
Batter Grind Down
LA Dodgers
Even though I won’t be using Cueto in my cash game lineups tonight, I will also be avoiding the Dodgers’ bats. It’s just not a great matchup for either side.
Cincinnati
The same goes for the Reds’ batters. There are better matchups on the board and you don’t need to waste any roster spots targeting any Reds tonight against Ryu.
Miami at Texas

Pitcher Grind Down
- Jacob Turner – Turner is not a recommended fantasy option tonight. On the season he has a 5.93 ERA with a 1.64 WHIP and he faces a powerful Rangers’ offense in the hitter-friendly Globe Life Park. Rating = 2
Salaries: $4700 FD, $9342 DS, $8850 DD, $5500 DK, $49000 FF, $13200 SS, $11300 FTD
- Yu Darvish – You are going to have to pay up for him, but Darvish is the top pitching option on the board tonight. Not only does he own the best K-rate in baseball since the start of last season, but he is facing a Marlins’ offense that has struck out in bunches on the road this season. Look for Yu to post double-digit K’s and pick up an easy win. Rating = 10
Salaries: $11400 FD, $26241 DS, $21000 DD, $12200 DK, $152300 FF, $32500 SS, $19200 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Miami
I’ll make this one simple: avoid all batters against Darvish tonight.
Texas
Alex Rios – I’m going back to the well on this one. Rios often gets overlooked in this lineup, but I’ll continue targeting him in these favorable matchups at home. Turner has given up a .350 wOBA to RHB’s this season and Rios has a nice combination of both speed and power.
Additional Plays: Adrian Beltre, Shin-Soo Choo, Elvis Andrus

Pitcher Grind Down
- Justin Verlander – Verlander’s price tag has reached an all-time low level on a couple of sites ($12k on DS). He certainly hasn’t been pitching up to the Verlander standards that he has set for himself over the years, but at this price he makes a terrific GPP option. Vegas has him as a -140 favorite and he definitely has the most upside of any pitcher at his price point. Rating = 5
Salaries: $7800 FD, $12052 DS, $14650 DD, $8700 DK, $70400 FF, $17400 SS, $15700 FTD
- John Danks – Danks has pitched well at home this season, but has been extremely inconsistent. Not only that, but he faces a Tigers’ offense that is ranked 11th against LH pitching with a team .330 wOBA. There are better options at his price point. Rating = 4
Salaries: $5700 FD, $13549 DS, $11650 DD, $7600 DK, $75700 FF, $19900 SS, $10500 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Detroit
Victor Martinez – Martinez has been good against RH pitching this season, but his numbers against southpaws have been off the charts. He has a .504 wOBA against LH pitching and draws a terrific matchup against Danks who has given up a .339 wOBA to RHB’s.
Additional Plays: Miguel Cabrera, Ian Kinsler, Austin Jackson, Nick Castellanos
Chicago White Sox
Jose Abreu – I think we are past the point where you have to avoid all hitters against Justin Verlander. At least until he turns things around. Abreu has a .398 wOBA against RH pitching this season and has multi-HR upside.
Additional Plays: Adam Eaton
