Jacob deGrom vs. Washington Nationals
By just about any measure we look at, deGrom is the top option on tonight’s slate. Based on the 2017 numbers of the pitchers throwing tonight, he has the best K% (28.9%), SwStr% (13.3%), and SIERA (3.44). His strikeout numbers are slightly down to start 2018, but there is nothing to indicate we should be concerned. Furthermore, his BB% has improved so far this season, he is inducing more ground balls, and all while allowing way less hard contact.
