Max Scherzer vs. Boston Red Sox
Corey Kluber at Kansas City Royals
We have these two guys at the top tonight, and I think it is one of those situations where I want to discuss the two of them together.
The very first thing that jumps out is that these two teams have the lowest strikeout rates in the league against RHP. Boston has the lowest at 18.9%, while the Royals have the second lowest at 19.2%. My immediate thought after noticing that was, “Oh, I’d much rather have Kluber versus one of the worst teams against righties instead of Max against THE best team against righties”. However, I don’t think it is quite that simple.
