Arms To Trust
James Paxton vs. San Francisco Giants
UPDATE: James Paxton has been scratched.
With Gerrit Cole enjoying a nice Coors tonight, Paxton is the top arm on the slate. His 32.2% K% is second on the slate behind only the aforementioned Cole, and he adds to it a 13.8% SwStr%, 6.9% BB%, and 2.97 SIERA.
I have little worry about the matchup against the Giants, especially in a nice pitchers park in Seattle. They do have a few guys in the heart of the order that hit LHP really well like Buster Posey and Andrew McCutchen, but Paxton has only allowed a .273 wOBA and .134 ISO to righties since the start of 2017 according to PlateIQ. The rest of their lineup is not that daunting.
