Thursday’s MLB slate is headlined by the Phillies and Twins, playing the league’s annual Field of Dreams game in Dyersville, Iowa.

Though we have seen some high-scoring affairs at that venue in previous years, it’s worth noting that there is a decent crosswind forecast with some rain in the area as well. As always, it’s important to keep an eye on the MLB weather report before committing to any wagers.

Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Thursday, August 13th!

Best MLB Player Props for Thursday, August 13th

Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:30 PM ET on Thursday, August 13th:

J.T. Realmuto UNDER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-163, DraftKings)

Realmuto is having a tough year at the dish, particularly against RHP. He enters play with a .217 batting average and 78 wRC+ in same-sided matchups, his worst numbers in a full season since debuting in the big leagues.

Taj Bradley has struggled to a 4.34 ERA since the All-Star Break, but the underlying metrics (3.56 FIP, palatable contact-quality metrics) indicate he is due for some positive regression. It’s easy to see Realmuto continuing to struggle in this matchup.

Byron Buxton UNDER 1.5 Total Bases (-132, DraftKings)

Buxton hasn’t played in a big-league game since July 28, and he didn’t embark on a rehab assignment either. Buxton could be rusty tonight, and it’s fair to wonder if he would even be on the field if not for this being a marquee game for Major League Baseball on Netflix at a destination venue.

Aaron Nola owns a 2.85 xFIP and 1.24 WHIP against RHB in 2026, both of which are better than the league average. This isn’t an easy spot for Buxton to return to the lineup.

Royce Lewis UNDER 1.5 Total Bases (-167, DraftKings)

Lewis has been on a tear in August, hitting .413 with a 213 wRC+. That said, the weather could present a challenge for his power production on Thursday in Iowa. As of this writing, it looks like this game will be played on the cooler side, with some crosswind that will work directly against his pull-side power. This is a worthy inclusion in a parlay.
