Major League Baseball has 15 games on tap for Tuesday, beginning with the Yankees against the Orioles at 6:35 pm ET. Carlos Rodon will make his anticipated return from the injured list to start that contest for New York.
The wind is blowing out toward center field tonight at Wrigley Field, which could mean another fun night for hitters on the city’s north side! As always, it’s important to keep an eye on the MLB weather report before committing to any wagers.
Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Tuesday, August 18th!
Best MLB Player Props for Tuesday, August 18th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35 PM ET on Tuesday, August 18th:
- Shane Baz Over/Under 17.5 Outs Recorded
- Zack Wheeler Over/Under 17.5 Outs Recorded
- Kyle Leahy Over/Under 15.5 Outs Recorded
Shane Baz UNDER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-111, Novig)
The Yankees have 7 LHB in the lineup against Baz, who has struggled to a 1.55 WHIP across the platoon in 2026. There are also some health concerns for Baz heading into this outing after consecutive starts in which his velocity has plummeted.
Baltimore’s arm barn isn’t in the best of shape heading into Tuesday, but there are reasons to think Baz could be short-lived in this game.
Zack Wheeler OVER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-160, BetMGM)
Wheeler hasn’t completed 6 innings in any of his last 4 starts, but 1 of those outings was due to rain and his most recent outing against the Cardinals was simply a case of him running into a wall in the 5th inning after throwing 116 pitches in his prior start.
The Marlins enter play tonight having seen the 3rd-fewest pitches per plate appearance in the league during the last 14 days. Philadelphia doesn’t have Jhoan Duran or Jonathan Bowlan available tonight at the back end of their arm barn. They would certainly appreciate 18 outs from their co-ace in a favorable matchup against a relatively weak-hitting Miami lineup.
Kyle Leahy UNDER 15.5 Outs Recorded (-108, Novig)
St. Louis might try to push Leahy into the 6th inning tonight, but this is too playable of a price on his under to pass up, especially in a potential middle situation.
The broadcast team mentioned that the plan is for Leahy to be 5-and-dive the rest of the season, as the team carefully navigates his transition to the rotation after being a reliever in 2024 and 2025. He’s already surpassed last year’s workload by nearly 30 innings. Even after heavily using the arm barn yesterday, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him done after exactly 15 outs tonight, especially if he’s north of 80 pitches after 5 innings.
