Happy Tuesday! Major League Baseball has 15 games on tap for tonight, beginning at 6:35 PM ET with the Angels taking on the Orioles. A couple of pitchers will be making their team debut after being traded, including Tarik Skubal for the Dodgers and Freddy Peralta for the Rays – games that should be worth tuning in to!
As always, it’s important to keep an eye on the MLB weather report before committing to any wagers. Warm temperatures and hitter-friendly winds could make for an entertaining night of baseball at Wrigley Field! It’s also over 90 degrees in Kansas City, which should be a boon to offense.

Best MLB Player Props for Tuesday, August 4th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35 PM ET on Tuesday, August 4th:
- Cade Povich Over/Under 14.5 Outs Recorded
- Carson Palmquist Over/Under 5.5 Outs Recorded
- Freddy Peralta Over/Under 5.5 Hits Allowed
Cade Povich OVER 14.5 Outs Recorded (-140, bet365)
BET365In his last turn through the rotation at Triple-A, Povich faced 29 batters and recorded 19 outs. He hasn’t faced fewer than 20 batters in any outing since the end of June. The Angels unloaded a significant amount of offensive talent at the trade deadline, which should make them one of the more pitcher-friendly matchups on the board for the remainder of the season. Povich should be given every opportunity to get through 5 innings here.
Carson Palmquist OVER 5.5 Outs Recorded (-155, bet365)
BET365Palmquist owns an unsightly 8.40 ERA across 50.1 innings at the MLB level since making his debut last season. That said, he’s a former 3rd-round draft pick who shouldn’t be totally devoid of talent across a larger sample size.
On July 30th, Palmquist faced 8 batters. He faced 11 batters and threw 36 pitches on July 21st. He’s certainly stretched out to face enough batters to get through 2 innings this evening. This bet simply comes down to whether or not he’s effective enough to stay in the game.
Philadelphia has 3 lefties in the top 4 of their lineup, which should afford Palmquist 13 batters faced to get 6 outs – a mathematically advantageous opportunity for bettors.
Freddy Peralta UNDER 5.5 Hits Allowed (-105, DraftKings)
DRAFTKINGSPeralta owns an uninspiring 4.99 ERA this season, but his 3.83 xERA suggests he’s been far more unlucky than bad. Tonight, he will make his Tampa Bay debut, facing a Colorado offense that is more good than great. Peralta will likely benefit from moving to a more pitcher-friendly organization, and a possible new pitch mix could help him have a leg up over batters in this spot. Tampa Bay’s arm barn is also rested heading into tonight’s action, which could lead to a slighter shorter leash than in a different situation.
