What kind of performances can we expect from Shohei Ohtani, James Wood, and Yordan Alvarez? Follow along as our MLB betting analyst, Nick Galaida, breaks down three of his favorite MLB prop bets for Wednesday, June 24, 2026. There are 11 evening games on tap for Wednesday, beginning at 6:40 p.m. ET. Of course, that means that there are plenty of betting opportunities still on the board, even for fans who were stuck at work during the action earlier this afternoon!
As always, it’s important to keep an eye on the MLB weather report before committing to any wagers. The forecast is once again on the cooler side in San Francisco, which could lead to some more pitcher-friendly results between the Athletics and Giants. Some crosswind in San Diego could impact the run-scoring environment in that ballpark too.
Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Wednesday, June 24th!
Best MLB Player Props for Wednesday, June 24th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 PM ET on Wednesday, June 24th:
- Shohei Ohtani Over/Under 17.5 Outs Recorded
- James Wood Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Yordan Alvarez Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Shohei Ohtani OVER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-150, Novig)
The market is hedging Ohtani as a pitcher a little bit tonight due to some injury concerns, but we had similar injury concerns ahead of his last outing too. He ended up facing 27 batters and recording 18 outs against the Rays in that matchup.
Tonight, he will face a Minnesota offense that has been underwhelming for most of the season to date. The Los Angeles arm barn is mostly rested behind Ohtani, but he should still have every opportunity to get through 6 frames.
James Wood OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-140, bet365)
In a universe where Shohei Ohtani didn’t exist, Wood would likely be firmly in National League MVP conversations. He enters play on Wednesday with 20 homers and a 153 wRC+. He has been even better against RHP. Tonight, he will get to face Aaron Nola, who has struggled to a 5.87 FIP and 1.79 WHIP across the platoon in 2026. This is good value for one of the most talented hitters in the game.
Yordan Alvarez OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-125, DraftKings)
Alvarez is enjoying the best season of his career, having already hit 25 home runs while nearly walking more than he has struck out. Tonight, he will face Trey Yesavage, who doesn’t have great swing-and-miss stuff across the platoon. Alvarez should have some opportunities to do damage with the bat this evening.
