Wednesday’s MLB evening slate features 9 games, beginning at 6:40 pm ET. Some of baseball’s top pitchers are scheduled to be on the bump tonight, including Cy Young contenders Jacob Misiorowski, Dylan Cease, and Cam Schlittler.

Similar to yesterday, warm weather and hitter-friendly winds could lead to a fun night of offense around the league. As always, it’s important to keep an eye on the MLB weather report before committing to any wagers.

Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Wednesday, September 2nd!

Best MLB Player Props for Wednesday, September 2nd

Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 PM ET on Wednesday, September 2nd:

Dylan Cease OVER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-150, BetMGM)

Cease has been the true definition of an ace during the latter-half of the regular season, completing 6+ innings in 9 of his last 10 turns through the Toronto rotation. He owns a spectacular 2.21 xERA, 2.53 FIP, and 0.82 WHIP during that stretch. Batters are hitting only .132 against him since the beginning of July.

Tonight, Cease will get to face an underwhelming Cleveland offense. He should have every opportunity to get 18 outs.

Joey Cantillo UNDER 15.5 Outs Recorded (-140, BetMGM)

Cantillo faced 25 batters in his most recent start against the Angels, which tied his most batters faced in any of his last 12 outings. However, Cleveland entered that game with an extremely taxed bullpen, which necessitated pushing Cantillo further into that outing than he would have gone under more normal circumstances.

Tonight, the Guardians have everyone available and rested in their arm barn. This is also a quasi-playoff game, with the Blue Jays and Guardians both battling for the final Wild Card position in the American League. Expect manager Stephen Vogt to be aggressive with his bullpen on Wednesday, likely pulling Cantillo after 5 frames.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto OVER 18.5 Outs Recorded (-110, BetMGM)

Manager Dave Roberts hasn’t been eager to unnecessarily use relievers in 2026. He’s consistently allowed his premier starters to work through traffic late in games, often bringing them out for a new inning with high pitch count totals.

Yamamoto is likely to have another long leash on Wednesday after Eric Lauer only lasted 3 innings yesterday. This is good value.
