Happy Friday! This weekend’s MLB action began with an afternoon affair at Wrigley Field between the Mariners and Cubs at 2:20 p.m. ET, but the remaining 14 games are all evening contests, all of which are scheduled for a first pitch of 6:40 p.m. ET or later.
As always, be sure to monitor our MLB starting lineups page throughout the day, as unexpected changes in the batting order can result in value opportunities in the betting and DFS markets.
Another reminder – it’s not a bad beat, or unlucky, if you bet a player to hit a home run and his fly ball dies on the warning track because it’s 40 degrees with the wind blowing in! Before locking in any bets, use our MLB weather page, curated by Chief Meteorologist, Kevin Roth. There are countless edges to be found if we make the right reads on possible rain delays and great hitting weather, just to name a few. Taking a look at the weather report can save us from a bad bet that otherwise looks good on the surface.
Below, you can find my 3 picks for Friday, June 20th!

Best MLB Player Props for Friday, June 20th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 PM ET on Friday, June 20th:
- Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Hunter Brown Over/Under 17.5 Outs Recorded
- Jeffrey Springs Over/Under 4.5 Strikeouts
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-145, BetMGM)

Guerrero continues to have a productive albeit unspectacular 2025. In June, he owns a .310 batting average and 153 wRC+, having scored 9 runs and having driven in another dozen. Tonight, he gets to face Grant Taylor, who has thrown 4 innings above Double-A in his professional career. Taylor has elite velocity on his 4-seamer, but he relies on that offering 56% of the time against right-handed batters, which could work to make the pitch less effective than many people might expect. Behind Taylor, the White Sox arm barn used 8 different arms, so Guerrero should get some favorable matchups in the late innings as well.
Hunter Brown UNDER 17.5 Outs Recorded (+142, FanDuel)

Brown has been one of the league’s best pitchers this season, entering play with a sparkling 1.88 ERA. That being said, he’s shown some small cracks in recent weeks – namely, a 10.8% walk rate and 50.5% first-pitch strike rate. His inability or unwillingness to compete in the strike zone has led to a number of inefficient plate appearances. During the last month, he’s averaging 4 pitches per batter faced, which could lead to some problems against a relatively patient Angels offense. It wouldn’t be the most shocking outcome to see Brown heading to the showers before the end of the 6th inning on Friday.
Jeffrey Springs OVER 4.5 Strikeouts (-118, FanDuel)

Springs had only 2 strikeouts in his most recent outing against the Royals, but it’s worth noting that Kansas City has struck out less frequently than all but 2 teams against southpaws across the last 14 days. Cleveland represents a much more palatable matchup and is more closely aligned with the Angels and Twins – both of which Springs recorded 7+ strikeouts against earlier this month. Springs has posted a double-digit swinging-strike rate in 4 of his last 5 outings. If he can do that again tonight, it should put him in plenty of 2-strike counts, giving this play good value.
