Happy Friday! Tonight’s MLB slate features 15 games, including a pair of contests on Apple TV+. Most notably, the Mariners and Astros will play the first of three games this weekend, with the winner of that series likely earning a division title and spot in this year’s playoffs.
As always, be sure to monitor our MLB starting lineups page throughout the day, as unexpected changes in the batting order can result in value opportunities in the betting and DFS markets.
Another reminder – it’s not a bad beat, or unlucky, if you bet a player to hit a home run and his fly ball dies on the warning track because it’s 40 degrees with the wind blowing in! Before locking in any bets, use our MLB weather page, curated by Chief Meteorologist, Kevin Roth. There are countless edges to be found if we make the right reads on possible rain delays and great hitting weather, just to name a few. Taking a look at the weather report can save us from a bad bet that otherwise looks good on the surface.

Best MLB Player Props for Friday, September 19
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 PM ET on Friday, September 19th:
- Ronald Acuna Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Bryan Woo Over/Under 18.5 Outs Recorded
- Hunter Brown Over/Under 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed
Ronald Acuna OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-131, DraftKings)
Acuna has demolished RHP in 2025 to the tune of a .302 batting average and a 164 wRC+. Tonight, he gets a great matchup against Charlie Morton, who has struggled to a 6.75 ERA, 5.30 FIP, and 1.59 WHIP during his last 7 starts. Acuna is positioned to do damage at the plate this evening.
Bryan Woo UNDER 18.5 Outs Recorded (-155, BetMGM)
The team that wins this weekend’s series between the Mariners and the Astros is almost certainly going to end up winning the division. Consequently, both managers are likely to be extremely aggressive with their bullpen usage over the next few days.
Woo has performed extremely well of late, with a 2.78 ERA, 2.87 FIP, and 0.90 WHIP in his last 6 starts. That being said, he hasn’t exactly been efficient. During the last month, he’s averaging 4.1 pitches per batter faced, which likely limits him to around 23 batters faced this evening.
It would be surprising to see him facing the middle of Houston’s lineup a third time, especially with a mostly rested Seattle bullpen behind him.
Hunter Brown UNDER 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-173, DraftKings)
In his last 9 turns through the Houston rotation, Brown has allowed fewer than 3 earned runs in all 9 of his starts. During that stretch, he owns a spectacular 1.63 ERA, 3.15 FIP, and 1.03 WHIP. He’s limited his walks and minimized quality contact against him – both things that portend long-term success.
Tonight, this play has added value, with the Astros likely willing to be aggressive with their bullpen usage. If there is one relative weakness in Brown’s profile, it’s that he has slightly worse command against left-handed hitters. He also suffers from a 3rd-time-through-the-order tax, similar to most starting pitchers.
If Brown is on a tight leash tonight, that only increases the likelihood that he leaves the game before allowing too much damage. There is also the possibility that he simply has a strong outing, which would also lead to a cashed ticket.
