MLB Player Props Today

Eury Perez o4.5 strikeouts (-132), FanDuel

Eury Perez Day has finally arrived! Tonight, the talented right-hander will make his MLB debut against the Cincinnati Reds. In the minor leagues this year, Perez posted a strong 35.7% strikeout rate at Double-A across six starts. In those six outings, he never had less than five strikeouts. Across his final two turns through the rotation, Perez had 20 strikeouts in only 11.0 innings of work. We do not have an umpire yet for this game, but facing a Reds offense that ranks 17th in strikeout percentage across the last two weeks and 25th in strikeout percentage across the last month is enough to warrant a risk on the over in this spot. If we get a strikeout-friendly umpire in this matchup, Perez to have the most strikeouts of any pitcher on this slate is a worthwhile stab at 40:1 on FanDuel.

Trea Turner o1.5 total bases (-135), BetMGM

Following a heroic effort during the World Baseball Classic for Team USA, Trea Turner has been anything but a hero for the Philadelphia Phillies to this point in the season. Entering play on Friday, he owns a pedestrian .261 batting average and .713 OPS – both of which would be career-worst marks. Still, we know that Turner is one of the most talented players in the game and is likely to turn things around sooner rather than later. A trip to Coors Field against subpar opposing pitching could be exactly what Turner needs to get moving in a more positive direction. Take the over here.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Juan Soto more than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs, PrizePicks

Entering play on Friday night, Juan Soto has eclipsed this market number in nine of his last 12 games played. In that span, Soto has walked in 24.6% of his total plate appearances, which has propelled an incredulous .561 on-base percentage. Simply, Soto is seeing the ball extremely well right now, which has enabled him to put up gaudy numbers over a small sample size. Tonight, he gets another favorable matchup against Dustin May in a rivalry game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Expect him to come to the ballpark ready to play this evening.
