MLB Player Props Today

Jake Irvin u15.5 Outs Recorded (-150), BetMGM

Entering play on Friday, Jake Irvin owns a 4.96 ERA, 5.11 xERA, 5.25 FIP, and a 1.49 WHIP. In his last 11 turns through the rotation, Irvin has eclipsed this market number only three times. Tonight, he will have a favorable matchup against a struggling San Francisco Giants offense, but it is still doubtful as to whether he can pitch into the sixth inning. On the season, Irvin is averaging 6.0 pitches per out recorded and 4.0 pitches per batter faced. Simply, he is not built for efficiency. If the Giants can have even a little bit of success early in this contest, they should be able to chase Irvin before he records 16 outs.

Mike Soroka u4.5 Strikeouts (-134), FanDuel

Mike Soroka has made four starts in the big leagues this year, in addition to one extended appearance out of the bullpen. Only once in those five appearances has he eclipsed this market number. Tonight, Soroka will face the Milwaukee Brewers, which have struck out at the 6th-lowest rate of any team in the league against right-handed pitching since July 1. According to props.cash, four of the last five right-handed starters to face the Brewers have gone under their pre-game strikeout prop number. Expect that trend to continue on Friday.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Luis Matos less than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks

Luis Matos is not yet a household name in the big leagues, but he is undeniably one of the best contact hitters in baseball. Ahead of first pitch this evening, Matos has struck out in only 10.4% of his plate appearances across his first 29 MLB games. Jake Irvin owns a pedestrian 17.1% strikeout rate against right-handed batters this year. Trust Matos to get the job done for us here.
