MLB Player Props Today

Masataka Yoshida u0.5 Strikeouts (+110), DraftKings

Entering the month of August, Masataka Yoshida has catapulted himself into the lead for American League Rookie of the Year honors, and for good reason. In 92 games played, Yoshida has done a little bit of everything, hitting 12 home runs, stealing eight bases, and striking out in only 11.9% of his plate appearances. Tonight, Yoshida has a somewhat difficult matchup against George Kirby, but we are willing to trust him in this spot with good value at plus-money.

Luis Matos u0.5 Strikeouts (-135), DraftKings

Luis Matos has been a contact machine since getting promoted to the big leagues, striking out in only 10.2% of his total plate appearances. Since July 7, Matos has struck out in only three of his 19 games played. Tonight, he gets a favorable matchup against Ryne Nelson, who has pedestrian stuff on the mound, with minimal ability to get swings-and-misses against either right- or left-handed batters. Take advantage of a mispriced market once again to start the new week.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Jose Ramirez less than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks

Jose Ramirez has prodigious power, but is also one of the game’s best contact hitters, striking out in only 9.8% of his plate appearances in 2023. This evening, Ramirez will face J.P. France, who has struck out only 19.2% of left-handed batters that he has faced this year. Ramirez has surprisingly struck out in both of his last two games played – expect that streak to come to an end on Monday against the Houston Astros.
