MLB Player Props Today

Adley Rutschman u0.5 Strikeouts (+130), DraftKings

Ken Waldichuk owns a pedestrian 21.7% strikeout rate against right-handed batters this year, making Adley Rutschman an interesting option to avoid a strikeout today. Despite his youth, Rutschman ranks in the 89th percentile in strikeout rate and 94th percentile in whiff rate among qualified hitters in 2023. Facing an inferior pitcher, Rutschman is capable of putting the ball in play each time he steps in the box today.

Bryson Stott u0.5 Strikeouts (+105), DraftKings

Bryson Stott cashed for us yesterday on this same play, so he earned the right to have us run things back again today. Stott is one of the game’s premier contact hitters, having struck out in only 15.4% of his total plate appearances in 2023. This afternoon, Stott will face Jake Irvin, who has struck out only 18.6% of the batters he has faced this year. Stott is a dependable option again on Saturday.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Alex Bregman Less Than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks

Entering play on Saturday, Alex Bregman ranks in the 94th percentile in strikeout rate and the 97th percentile in whiff percentage among qualified MLB hitters. Today, he will face Logan Gilbert, who relies primarily on getting hitters to swing at pitches out of the zone to generate strikeouts. Bregman also ranks in the 94th percentile in chase rate, meaning that he rarely helps pitchers by swinging at bad pitches. Even in a relatively difficult matchup, Bregman is an option worth considering in this market.
