MLB Player Props Today
- Johan Oviedo u5.5 Strikeouts
- Aaron Nola u18.5 outs recorded
- Yandy Diaz less than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts
Johan Oviedo u5.5 strikeouts (-185), BetMGM
Some bettors may turn their noses at the juice here, but Johan Oviedo has eclipsed this market number in only one of his last eight turns through the rotation and has another tough matchup against a relatively high-contact New York Mets lineup today. Since May 16th, the Mets rank 10th in strikeout percentage against right-handed pitching. In Oviedo’s last eight starts, he has an unimpressive 56.2% strikeout rate, putting himself behind the 8-ball right out of the gate in many plate appearances. The under looks great in this spot.
Aaron Nola u18.5 outs recorded (-140), BetMGM
Aaron Nola has been throwing the ball better of late, but he has still only eclipsed this market number in three of his last six trips to the mound. Today, he has to contend with a Los Angeles Dodgers lineup that ranks 9th in OPS and 8th in ISO against right-handed pitching since May 15. Philadelphia also has an incredibly well-rested bullpen heading into today’s action, with no member of their arm barn having thrown on back-to-back days or more than one time in the last three days. Take the under here.
MLB DFS Pick’em
Owen Miller less than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks
Entering play on Saturday, Ken Waldichuk owns an 18.4% strikeout rate against right-handed batters this season. Owen Miller ranks in the 86th percentile in strikeout rate this year as a batter and has a sub-20.0% strikeout rate against southpaws at this point in the campaign. It is likely that Miller avoids some of Oakland’s tougher arms in the bullpen during the latter innings of this contest, making this a worthwhile risk.
