MLB Player Props Today
- Kike Hernandez u0.5 Strikeouts
- Adam Frazier u0.5 Strikeouts
- Mookie Betts Less Than 0.5 Strikeouts
Kike Hernandez u0.5 Strikeouts (-135), DraftKings
Kike Hernandez has some of the starkest platoon splits from a contact perspective in all of baseball. Facing right-handed pitching, Hernandez has struck out 22.6% of the time in 2023. However, he has only struck out in 10.7% of his plate appearances against southpaws. This afternoon, he has a favorable matchup against the soft-tossing Kyle Freeland, who ranks in the 4th percentile in strikeout rate and the 2nd percentile in whiff rate this year – take the under.
Adam Frazier u0.5 Strikeouts (+100), DraftKings
Entering play on Sunday, Adam Frazier owns a 12.5% strikeout rate against right-handed pitching in 2023. Today, he will face Bryce Miller, who has struggled to generate many swings and misses against left-handed hitters, with his strikeout rate being 8.6% lower against lefties than righties. At even money, Frazier, who ranks in the 96th percentile in strikeout percentage and 88th percentile in whiff rate, is a worthwhile risk in this spot.
MLB DFS Pick’em
Mookie Betts Less than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks
Mookie Betts has impressive pop at the plate, but he also has some of the best bat-to-ball skills of any hitter in Major League Baseball – ranking in the 84th percentile in strikeout percentage and 90th percentile in whiff rate. He rarely chases pitches, which makes him even tougher to punch out. Kyle Freeland has only struck out 13.1% of the right-handed batters he has faced this season, making this a strong look for Sunday afternoon.
