MLB Player Props Today

Graham Ashcraft u4.5 Strikeouts (-128), FanDuel

According to props.cash, Graham Ashcraft has gone under this market number in 14 of his last 20 turns through the rotation. During that stretch, Ashcraft owns a pedestrian 16.0% strikeout rate and has been significantly worse than league average overall – producing a 5.30 ERA, 5.36 FIP, and a 1.45 WHIP. Since the beginning of July, Ashcraft only has one start in which he has generated north of a 10.0% swinging-strike rate. Entering play on Tuesday, the Cleveland Guardians have struck out three times or fewer in each of their last three contests against right-handed starting pitching. The under is a good look in this spot.

Freddie Freeman o1.5 Total Bases (-110), BetMGM

Freddie Freeman finished the weekend 0-for-9 at the plate, going hitless in back-to-back contests despite having zero softly-hit baseballs in those two games. Prior to his last two games, bettors would have to go all the way back to July 16 to find the last time Freeman went two games in a row without a base hit. They would have to go all the way back to April 21 to find the last time Freeman went three games in a row without a hit. Adrian Houser has struggled to a 5.53 FIP, 1.57 WHIP, and allowed a .261 opponent batting average to left-handed hitters in 2023. Do not be surprised if Freeman breaks out of his mini-slump in a big way this evening.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Steven Kwan Less Than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks

Since August 6, Steven Kwan has struck out in only 3.2% of his total plate appearances, indicating that he is seeing the ball extremely well right now. Tonight, he gets a favorable matchup against Graham Ashcraft, who ranks in the 11th percentile in strikeout rate, 22nd percentile in whiff percentage, and the 25th percentile in chase rate in 2023. Kwan is a trustworthy option to avoid a strikeout on Tuesday night.
