Happy Tuesday! There is no football on tap for today, which means baseball gets our full attention. The action on the diamond begins early this afternoon at Coors Field with a matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado Rockies, but there are 15 additional games as part of the evening slate, giving bettors plenty of time to find a few plays to their liking.

Across the last two months, we are 98-59-6 (63.3%) in this article. Since May 1, we are 193-140-12 on non-Home Run props and 2-6 on Home Run recommendations. We are now 117-60-5 (66.9%) on pitcher prop recommendations for the season. There is plenty of opportunity once again on the player prop market today – below are three prop leans for September 22!

MLB Player Props Today

Geraldo Perdomo u0.5 Strikeouts (+125), DraftKings

Across the last three months, Geraldo Perdomo has struck out in only 19.0% of his plate appearances against right-handed pitching. Tonight, he gets to face Jose Urena, who has consistently been one of the worst pitchers in Major League Baseball since making his debut with the Miami Marlins in 2015. Urena owns a 15.5% strikeout rate for his career, and his 2023 numbers are once again underwhelming when it comes to swings and misses. Perdomo ranks in the 98th percentile in chase rate and 95th percentile in whiff rate – it is rare to get such a good price on him to avoid a strikeout in this favorable of a matchup.

Gabriel Moreno u0.5 Strikeouts (+105), DraftKings

Since July 1, Gabriel Moreno has struck out in only 15.8% of his plate appearances against right-handed pitching. Tonight, he will face Jose Urena, who owns a pedestrian 16.4% strikeout rate against right-handed hitters this season and has only two games at the big league level with more than four strikeouts in 2023. Moreno will occasionally chase a bad pitch out of the zone, but that is less of a concern against a pitcher of Urena’s caliber, who ranks in only the 47th percentile in extension and generates whiff rates that are worse than the league average. At plus money, this is great value.

MLB DFS Pick’em

George Kirby More Than 17.5 Pitching Outs, PrizePicks

In his last eight turns through the rotation, George Kirby has completed at least six innings of work six times. In one of those misses, he recorded 17 outs and was given every opportunity to get out of the sixth inning. Kirby is aggressive in the strike zone, evident from his 70.2% first-pitch strike rate since the beginning of August. This leads to efficient outs, and he doesn’t waste too many pitches even when he allows baserunners. This is not the most favorable matchup for Kirby, but he has thrown the ball well of late and should be given every chance to get deep into this ballgame by his manager.
