MLB Player Props Today

Austin Gomber u6.5 Hits Allowed (-105), BetMGM

According to props.cash, Austin Gomber has allowed fewer than seven hits in 17 of his 24 turns through the rotation this year. He will face the Arizona Diamondbacks, who rank 20th in batting average, 17th in OPS, and 22nd in ISO against left-handed pitching during the month of August. Gomber has also been better against right-handed batters, of which there are eight in Arizona’s lineup today. It’s rarely fun to trust sub-par talent, but Gomber has a good chance to deliver for us in this spot.

Freddie Freeman o1.5 Total Bases (+100), BetMGM

Dating back to Saturday, Freddie Freeman is 0-for-13 at the plate, going hitless in three consecutive contests. Prior to these three games, bettors would have to go all the way back to April 21 to find the last time Freeman went three games in a row without a hit. On April 22, he had two hits, including a double against the Chicago Cubs. Wade Miley has been good, but not great against left-handed batters in 2023, with a 3.84 FIP and a 1.19 WHIP. Freeman has experienced no trouble against southpaws, posting a .332 batting average, .951 OPS, and a 155 wRC+. Trust Freeman to get the job done for us this evening.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Amed Rosario Less Than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks

Whenever the Los Angeles Dodgers face a left-handed pitcher, we turn our attention to Amed Rosario in some form or fashion. Tonight, Rosario has a good opportunity to avoid a strikeout against the soft-tossing Wade Miley, who ranks in the 12th percentile in strikeout rate, 9th percentile in whiff rate, and 21st percentile in chase rate this year. Miley owns a pedestrian 15.1% strikeout rate against right-handed batters, and Rosario has struck out in only 13.1% of his total plate appearances against left-handed pitching this season. This is a strong look for today’s slate.
