MLB Player Props Today

Ryan Mountcastle UNDER 1.5 Total Bases (-155), bet365

Mountcastle has a hit in each of his first 2 games to begin the new campaign, but he could have a difficult time collecting multiple bases on Sunday afternoon, given the weather forecast. As of this writing, it appears as though the temperature could be under 60 degrees at first pitch, with an impactful wind blowing in from left field towards the first base dugout. Mountcastle has extremely strong splits against LHP, but his numbers are best on the road, where he doesn’t have to contend with the hitter-averse dimensions of Camden Yards in left field. The under makes sense in this spot.

Byron Buxton UNDER 1.5 Total Bases (-150), Fanatics

Buxton had 1 hit on Opening Day and a pair of hits on Saturday, but it’s a tough ask for him to produce again on Sunday with the quick turnaround, given his injury history. Buxton has frequently been given days off in recent seasons in an effort to keep him healthy enough to play the majority of the schedule. Though his return to the outfield to begin 2024 should be considered a good sign for his health, he is still a player who has undergone major surgery on multiple occasions. This is a tough ask of him against Brady Singer to end the week.

Carlos Correa UNDER 1.5 Total Bases (-140), Fanatics

Correa went 0-for-5 on Saturday and could be at risk for another underwhelming performance on Sunday against Brady Singer. Singer is predominantly sinker/slider to righties, two pitch types that Correa struggled against in 2023. Last season, Correa ranked 162nd out of 476 hitters in xwOBA against fastballs and 211th out of 393 hitters against breaking balls. He could struggle here.
