MLB Player Props Today

Gavin Williams Over/Under 15.5 Outs Recorded
Aaron Nola Over/Under 18.5 Outs Recorded
Logan Gilbert Over/Under 4.5 Hits Allowed

Gavin Williams OVER 15.5 Outs Recorded (-125), Bally

Kansas City’s offense has been red hot against RHP of late, ranking 4th in OPS and 5th in wRC+ during the last 14 days. That being said, these two teams played a doubleheader yesterday, so fatigue could play somewhat of a factor here – especially with how high-intensity games against divisional rivals are at this point in the season.

Gavin Williams was chased from his last start after only 4.1 innings, but he has thrown 92 pitches and 98 pitches in his last two outings, so he’s not facing any type of workload restrictions here. Cleveland is likely to give him every opportunity to pitch into the 6th inning, with Emmanuel Clase, Hunter Gaddis, and Cade Smith each having thrown in back-to-back days. Scott Barlow, Tim Herrin, Nick Sandlin, Eli Morgan, and Connor Gillispie each threw 22+ pitches yesterday as well, so length is a priority for Williams. Having a pitcher-friendly umpire calling balls and strikes tonight doesn’t hurt matters here.

Aaron Nola UNDER 18.5 Outs Recorded (-165), BetMGM

Aaron Nola hasn’t looked like a Cy Young young contender for quite some time, which makes this line a little bit perplexing. During the last month alone, Nola has allowed a 9.3% barrel rate, 91.9% contact rate on swings at pitches in the zone, and he’s not inducing much weak contact.

Houston’s offense isn’t at full strength, with Kyle Tucker still on the injured list, but this is still a capable group. It’s going to be roughly 90 degrees at first pitch tonight in Philadelphia as well, which only helps the hitters.

Philadelphia’s arm barn isn’t in great shape, but Nola has only worked into the 7th inning once since the All-Star Break, and that was against the Nationals. He has a tougher test tonight, which is likely to force the Phillies into their bullpen by the latter third of this contest.

Logan Gilbert UNDER 4.5 Hits Allowed (-165), BetMGM

Tampa Bay has been one of the worst offenses in baseball against RHP since the All-Star Break, ranking 29th in OPS, 29th in wRC+, 29th in batting average, 26th in ISO, and 29th in wOBA. Logan Gilbert has been masterful at home this year, with a 2.94 FIP, 0.82 WHIP, and 27.7% strikeout rate. In 12 home starts this season, Gilbert has allowed 4 hits or fewer 9 times. Simply, this is a talented pitcher facing a struggling offense in a pitcher-friendly venue. Gilbert should be able to keep the damage against him to a minimum this evening.
