MLB Player Props Today

Davis Daniel Over/Under 4.5 Hits Allowed
Blake Snell Over/Under 18.5 Outs Recorded
Blake Snell Over/Under 7.5 Strikeouts

Davis Daniel OVER 4.5 Hits Allowed (-160), DraftKings

Davis Daniel is one of the most hittable pitchers to find his way to an MLB mound in recent memory. He owns an 8.31 ERA and 1.62 WHIP across the last month of action, due in part to his inability to consistently miss bats. His 7.5% swinging strike rate this past month is among the lowest of any qualified pitcher, which doesn’t bode well in a matchup against a Yankees offense that ranks 3rd in OPS, 3rd in wRC+, and 4th in batting average against right-handed pitching during that stretch. Daniel has allowed at least 5 hits in each of his last 3 starts and hasn’t allowed fewer than 4 hits in a game this year at the MLB level. The juice is likely to be worth the squeeze here. Daniel could potentially be left out on the mound to suffer in this spot as well, with the Angels likely trying to preserve their bullpen for the nightcap of their doubleheader.

Blake Snell UNDER 18.5 Outs Recorded (-167), Bally Sports

Blake Snell is coming off of a no-hitter, but that’s actually not a good thing. Each of the last three MLB pitchers to throw a no-hitter have recorded fewer than 18 outs in their subsequent outing. Dylan Cease, the most recent example meeting this criterion, only recorded 17 outs at home in his subsequent start to his no-hitter.

There are other reasons not to be overly enamored with Snell, as well. Though the surface-level results have been very good of late, he’s benefited from an unsustainable .115 BABIP and 96.4% strand rate across the last month. The forecast isn’t great for pitching, either, with the temperature in the mid-80s at Nationals Park.

Snell hasn’t recorded 19+ outs in back-to-back games since 2022. There are a lot of reasons to like the under against a Washington lineup that has been demolishing southpaws of late.

Blake Snell UNDER 7.5 Strikeouts (-175), BetMGM

Blake Snell is coming off of back-to-back games with 11+ strikeouts, which makes this line seem unapproachable on the surface. However, his last 2 starts have come against the Rockies and Reds – both of which rank 27th or worse in strikeout rate against southpaws during the last month. He gets a much tougher matchup against a Washington lineup that has struck out less frequently against left-handed pitching than any other team in baseball during that same stretch. Coming off of a no-hitter, the under makes a fair amount of sense.
