Happy Wednesday! Today’s MLB slate began earlier this afternoon, but there are still 10 games left to get underway as of this writing. Of course, that means plenty of opportunities left on the board for the betting community as well!

As always, be sure to monitor our MLB starting lineups page throughout the day, as unexpected changes in the batting order can result in value opportunities in the betting and DFS markets.

Another reminder – it’s not a bad beat, or unlucky, if you bet a player to hit a home run and his fly ball dies on the warning track because it’s 40 degrees with the wind blowing in! Before locking in any bets, use our MLB weather page, curated by Chief Meteorologist, Kevin Roth. There are countless edges to be found if we make the right reads on possible rain delays and great hitting weather, just to name a few. Taking a look at the weather report can save us from a bad bet that otherwise looks good on the surface.

Below, you can find my 3 picks for Wednesday, September 17th!

Best MLB Player Props for Wednesday, September 17

Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 PM ET on Wednesday, September 17th:

Cristian Javier OVER 15.5 Outs Recorded (+120, DraftKings)

Javier hasn’t thrown more than 87 pitches or faced more than 24 batters in a game since returning from the injured list at the beginning of August. That being said, he’s pitched into the 6th inning in 2 of his last 3 outings and appears to have more than enough leash to do that once again on Wednesday, especially considering that Houston has already won this series and done some damage to their bullpen in recent days.

The Astros are playing in exclusively “must-win” games from this point until the end of September, which could contribute to some unusually aggressive arm barn usage, but Houston would probably like to stack a pair of days off for some of their relievers going into this weekend’s series against the Mariners if at all possible.

Javier should have a chance to come out for the 6th inning here, if he’s somewhat effective.

Taj Bradley OVER 14.5 Outs Recorded (-160, FanDuel)

It’s always possible that Bradley gets shellacked tonight and that leads to an early exit, but there doesn’t appear to be much motivation to limit his leash otherwise. Bradley faced 24 batters on September 10 against the Angels, 23 batters on September 4 against the White Sox, and 24 batters against the White Sox on August 24. On August 30, he needed only 19 batters to complete 5 innings against the Padres.

New York has a potent lineup that is capable of getting into the bullpen early on any given night, but the leash suggests that Bradley should have plenty of opportunities to get through the 5th inning.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-160, BetMGM)

Add this pick with 1 click!PLACE THIS BET ONBETMGM

This season, Guerrero is hitting .341 with a 1.002 OPS and 177 wRC+ against LHP. Tonight, he will get to face Ian Seymour, who has struggled with his command at times against right-handed hitters. In Seymour’s last 22.1 innings of work, he’s allowed 8 walks and a 12.1% barrel rate. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Guerrero have a strong night at the dish in this matchup.
