Traditional MLB DFS formats aren’t the only way to profit from daily fantasy baseball. MLB PrizePicks is a great fantasy pick’em site where we can take today’s projections versus theirs and combine two or more baseball predictions for sizeable payouts.

In this space, we’ll explore a few PrizePicks plays for the upcoming MLB slate. This article isn’t the be-all, end-all of great plays or a recommendation for a full ticket; it’s simply a starting place for you to explore thinking about the game within the game. Maybe you want to scatter these plays across entries. Maybe there are only two or three you think are worth playing. Daily fantasy pick’em gives us the flexibility to make only the plays in which we think there is value rather than being forced to create a full lineup while competing against the best DFS players in the industry.

PrizePicks is daily fantasy baseball made simple, and our MLB PrizePicks picks tool makes the process even simpler.

MLB PrizePicks Predictions for Sunday, June 16th

Miles Mikolas LESS Than 24.0 Fantasy Points

Not only are we looking at 12-13 mph winds blowing out to left in Wrigley Field, we have temps in the 80s. The only way to get around this is to limit contact and keep the ball on the ground- two things Miles Mikolas doesn’t do often enough. His K rate is only 15.9% since the start of the 2023 season. His fly-ball rate over that stretch is 27.7%, but his barrel rate is 9.8% on an 85.2% contact rate. This is a high-power on high-contact situation for a powerful Cubs lineup. They should smash Mikolas, whom we have projected for just 22.3 fantasy points. He has a floor of negative points.

Tylor Megill MORE Than 5.5 Hits Allowed (DEMON)

The Padres aren’t all that good, but they put so much wood on the ball, and Tylor Megill has surrendered a 9.3% barrel rate since the start of the 2023 season. We have him projected to give up 6.5 hits, so this is an easy DEMON play. Don’t overthink this simply because Megill has had a lot of strikeouts through 25.2 IP this season.

Marcus Stroman MORE Than 23.5 Fantasy Points

Marcus Stroman isn’t a great pitcher, but he’s a massive ground-ball pitcher who rarely gets blown up and has a long leash. Stroman has gone 6+ IP in 4 of his last 6, and limiting the fly balls should be exactly what the Yankees need to win in Fenway Park, so he should last long. He isn’t a big strikeout pitcher, but 23.5 is just too low of a PrizePicks projection for such a great shot at a quality start. We have Stroman projected for 27.1 fantasy points on the evening.

All projections referenced are accurate at the time of writing but subject to change.

This isn’t a great slate and we don’t have our DEMON boosters out for hitting yet. When they do come out, the Cubs and Cardinals in the Wrigley Wind game are obvious targets along with the Pirates against Dakota Hudson in Coors.
