MLB PrizePicks Predictions Today: Top Plays for Tuesday, September 10th
Traditional MLB DFS formats aren’t the only way to profit from daily fantasy baseball. MLB PrizePicks is a great fantasy pick’em site where we can take today’s projections versus theirs and combine two or more baseball predictions for sizeable payouts.
In this space, we’ll explore a few PrizePicks plays for the upcoming MLB slate. This article isn’t the be-all, end-all of great plays or a recommendation for a full ticket; it’s simply a starting place for you to explore thinking about the game within the game. Maybe you want to scatter these plays across entries. Maybe there are only two or three you think are worth playing. Daily fantasy pick’em gives us the flexibility to make only the plays in which we think there is value rather than being forced to create a full lineup while competing against the best DFS players in the industry.
PrizePicks is daily fantasy baseball made simple, and our MLB PrizePicks picks tool makes the process even simpler.

MLB PrizePicks Predictions for Tuesday, September 10th
- Pablo Lopez MORE Than 18.5 Outs (DEMON)
- Griffin Canning MORE Than 15.5 Outs (DEMON)
- Spencer Arrighetti MORE Than 2.5 Walks Allowed (DEMON)
Pablo Lopez MORE Than 18.5 Outs (DEMON)
The Angels projected lineup has a .252 wOBA and .121 ISO against righties for a 3.05 implied total, facing Pablo Lopez, who’s logged 20, 23, 21, 18, and 18 outs in each of his last 5 starts. Looking to secure a spot in the postseason, the Twins are running Lopez out there for a lot of volume, as long as he doesn’t blow up. This is one of the best matchups in the league, so he should go into the 7th inning, given his pitch count ceiling — which is north of 100 — and his 20.9% K-BB rate. We have Lopez projected for 17.6 outs, and I think that’s too conservative, given his high floor and complete game ceiling.
Griffin Canning MORE Than 15.5 Outs (DEMON)
On the other side of this game, Griffin Canning isn’t any good, but the Angels bullpen is horrid, so they’re making Canning pitch for volume. Five starts ago, we saw Canning give up 4 ERs, but he was left out there for 7 IP. He’s logged 20, 15, 18, 13, and 21 outs over his last 5 starts, so there’s a wide range of outcomes here, but the Angels clearly wanna get him into the 6th inning. Getting a ballpark bump out of Anaheim, we have Canning projected for 15.8 outs.
Spencer Arrighetti MORE Than 2.5 Walks Allowed (DEMON)
Only Luis Gil has more BB/9 over at least 125 IP than Spencer Arrighetti and his 4.32 rate. The A’s aren’t very good and they strike out a ton, but their projected lineup does have an 8.4% BB rate to Arrighetti’s 10.7%. Outside of his last start, Arrighetti’s had a ton of volume, pitching at least 6 IP in each of his last 7 prior starts. With volume for Arrighetti should come the walks. We have him projected for 2.4 walks, so 6 IP should get us a great shot at surpassing 2.5 walks.
All projections referenced are accurate at the time of writing but subject to change.
In general, this is a tough PrizePicks slate. I suggest a lower volume, avoiding the K projections, as tempting as a couple might be. Stick to outs for pitchers and hunt for soft fantasy point projections to attack.
