In the last seven days alone, we have cashed a +758 parlay, a +837 parlay, and a +711 parlay. We nearly cashed another +940 parlay yesterday, but the Colorado Rockies blew a seventh-inning lead as +320 underdogs, losing 2-1 to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Not counting the All-Star Game, we have cashed eight tickets in this article, narrowly missed 24 winners, and had 18 tickets seemingly dead on arrival. Playing longshot parlays each day, these results are within the parameters of what is expected. As we highlight every day, these plays have been exceptionally profitable if played as individual tickets.
In this article, we never post a ticket with shorter than +700 odds, meaning that we only need to hit once each week to be profitable. Overall, these plays are 84-62-1 (57.5%) if played as straight wagers, many of which have been significant alt-lines, even as individual tickets.

MLB Parlay Piece for August 11, 2023
- Cincinnati Reds -1.5
- Joey Votto 2+ Total Bases
- Johan Oviedo u5.5 Strikeouts
Cincinnati Reds -1.5 (+150)
Entering play on Friday, the Cincinnati Reds have lost 11 of their last 15 contests. While it may seem as though the Reds have fallen off of a cliff, they have simply played tough competition – seven of those contests were against the Houston Astros and Toronto Blue Jays. Tonight, the Reds get a much easier opponent, the Pittsburgh Pirates, which are an unimpressive 4-5 in their last nine games as well. The Reds have the better starting pitcher, more offensive firepower, and a comparable bullpen in this matchup – expect them to find a way to get the job done, and don’t be surprised if they win comfortably.
Joey Votto 2+ Total Bases (+125)
In 108 at-bats this year against right-handed pitching, Joey Votto has 10 home runs and four doubles. Simply, this is a mispriced line at plus money, especially when factoring in the matchup. Johan Oviedo owns a 4.79 FIP against left-handed hitters this year, including 28 extra-base hits allowed. This is a worthwhile inclusion in today’s longshot parlay.
Johan Oviedo u5.5 Strikeouts (+124)
The Cincinnati Reds have the worst strikeout percentage in baseball against right-handed pitching during the month of August. Still, this is a high line for Johan Oviedo, who has eclipsed this market number only eight times in 23 turns through the rotation in 2023. Oviedo has only struck out 17.8% of the right-handed batters he has faced this season and will see five right-handed batters this evening. At plus money, this is good value for a pitcher who doesn’t have a lot of talent.
