MLB Parlay Piece for August 6, 2023
- Los Angeles Dodgers -3.5
- Amed Rosario 2+ Total Bases
- Mookie Betts 2+ Total Bases
Los Angeles Dodgers -3.5 (+290)
Last night, the Los Angeles Dodgers were seemingly en route to an easy victory before their bullpen imploded in an eventual 8-3 defeat. Tonight, the Dodgers have an excellent opportunity to get that bad taste out of their mouths facing Rich Hill, who has struggled to a 4.76 ERA, 5.60 xERA, and a 4.44 FIP in 2023. Since July 1st, Los Angeles is 4th in OPS and 4th in ISO against southpaws – expect their bats to do plenty of damage in this spot.
Amed Rosario 2+ Total Bases (+100)
If used as an everyday player, there are much better options at the plate than Amed Rosario. Yet Rosario continues to mash left-handed pitching at nearly every opportunity, posting an .813 OPS and a 122 wRC+ against southpaws in 2023. Tonight, he will get to face Rich Hill, who owns a disappointing 4.59 FIP and has allowed a .278 opponent batting average against right-handed batters this season. Trust Rosario to get the job done for us here.
Mookie Betts 2+ Total Bases (-120)
Mookie Betts is capable of doing damage every time he steps in the box, but he has been at his most dangerous this year against left-handed pitching. Entering play on Sunday, he owns a 1.107 OPS, .413 ISO, and a 187 wRC+ against southpaws this season. This evening, he will likely get at least two plate appearances against the soft-tossing Rich Hill, who has proven himself inadequate across the platoon this summer. Do not be surprised if Betts has a big night at the dish.
