According to props.cash, Brayan Bello has only eclipsed this market number three times in nine turns through the rotation in 2023. Tonight, he gets a matchup with the New York Yankees, which rank near the league average in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching during the month of June. Bello has stark platoon splits as well, with a meager 18.6% strikeout rate against left-handed batters this year, of which there should be at least three in the New York lineup this evening. Similar to his counterpart on the mound this evening, Clarke Schmidt has significant splits across the platoon. Schmidt is striking out only 21.4% of left-handed batters, of which there will be at least five in the Boston Red Sox lineup on Sunday Night Baseball. Schmidt has only 12 total strikeouts across his last 16.2 innings of work and has a tough matchup in this spot against a relatively high-contact Boston offense. The under appears to be a strong look on Schmidt’s strikeout prop.
