Yesterday, we narrowly missed cashing our third consecutive longshot parlay. This evening, we have another opportunity to get back in the win column with all 30 MLB teams in action. The slate begins on the east coast at 6:40 p.m. EST and will conclude in Hollywood with a matchup between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers.

We have cashed 11 tickets since debuting this article and only narrowly missed another 28 winners. Playing longshot parlays each day, there will be big winners, but there will always be days in which it was more profitable to play each leg as an individual wager. As we highlight each day in this piece, these plays have been most profitable played individually, even though we have been profitable with the parlay odds as well.

In this article, we never post a ticket with shorter than +700 odds, meaning that we only need to hit once each week to be profitable. Overall, these plays are 111-85-1 (56.6%) if played as straight wagers, many of which have been significant alt-lines, even as individual tickets.

Below, we break down our favorite longshot (+750) look for August 29, focusing on today’s matchup between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers!

MLB Parlay Piece for August 29, 2023

Arizona Diamondbacks Moneyline (+158)

The Los Angeles Dodgers are in the midst of a brutal part of their schedule but have miraculously powered through fatigue thus far. However, every player who wears a Dodgers uniform is a human being at the end of the day. Eventually, last week’s weather-induced chaos in Cleveland will catch up to this group. Yesterday, the Dodgers took care of business in a 7-4 victory in the series opener, creating a prime letdown spot for the offense on Tuesday night against a respectable opposing pitcher. At significant plus-money, this is a worthwhile risk.

Clayton Kershaw u5.5 Strikeouts (-134)

Since the beginning of August, only the Milwaukee Brewers have a lower strikeout rate against left-handed pitching than the Arizona Diamondbacks. In that span, only Blake Snell has struck out more than six batters against the Diamondbacks. Clayton Kershaw has still not thrown more than 71 pitches since coming off of the injured list. He is unlikely to be far north of 80 pitches. The under is a strong look here.

Under 7.5 (-102)

If the Arizona Diamondbacks are going to win this game, it is unlikely to be high-scoring. Though the Diamondbacks have done a good job avoiding strikeouts against southpaws this month, they have not done much in terms of run production. Entering play this evening, they rank 20th in OPS and 22nd in ISO against left-handed pitching this month. This is likely a correlated outcome to the Diamondbacks winning.
