MLB Parlay Piece for June 10, 2023
- Anthony Rizzo to Hit a Home Run
- Justin Turner to Record a Hit
- Masataka Yoshida to Record a Hit
Anthony Rizzo to Hit a Home Run (+420)
Anthony Rizzo has 11 home runs this season, 10 of which have come against right-handed pitching. Tanner Houck has allowed seven home runs this season, all of which have come against left-handed batters. Simply, Houck has very few strengths in his arsenal against left-handed batters, which has led to a 5.44 FIP, .270 opponent batting average, and a 1.42 WHIP across the platoon this season. At this price, Rizzo to hit a dinger is worth a roll of the dice.
Justin Turner to Record a Hit (-230)
Justin Turner is only 2-for-12 at the dish across his last three games, but both of those hits came last night, and he has a decent matchup on Saturday night, as he aims to sustain the positive momentum. Domingo German has struggled to a 4.49 FIP against right-handed batters this season. Though he has struggled against right-handed pitching, Turner is in a good spot to do damage tonight due to German’s over-reliance on a single offering in this matchup. Turner has a .301 xBA against right-handed fastballs in 2023, meaning that he could position himself well to get a good pitch to hit if he can refrain from chasing German’s breaking stuff out of the zone.
Masataka Yoshida to Record a Hit (-260)
Masataka Yoshida went hitless on Friday, which is a rare occurrence. Since May 27, Yoshida is batting .373 with only three hitless games in that span. Yoshida owns a .325 batting average and a .902 OPS against right-handed pitching to begin his rookie campaign. Trust him to make hard contact somewhere in at least one of his plate appearances tonight – take him to record a hit as part of this parlay.
