Major League Baseball’s evening slate features 11 games, concluding with a Hollywood matchup between the Milwaukee Brewers and surging Los Angeles Dodgers. The first pitch in that contest is scheduled for 10:10 p.m. EST.

In the last two weeks alone, we have cashed a +758 parlay, a +837 parlay, and a +711 parlay. We nearly cashed another +940 parlay on Friday, but the Colorado Rockies blew a seventh-inning lead as +320 underdogs, losing 2-1 to the Los Angeles Dodgers. On Friday, we went 2-1 again on plus-money plays, but lost the parlay because Joey Votto didn’t collect two total bases.

Not counting the All-Star Game, we have cashed eight tickets in this article, narrowly missed 25 winners, and had 20 tickets seemingly dead on arrival. Playing longshot parlays each day, these results are within the parameters of what is expected. As we highlight every day, these plays have been exceptionally profitable if played as individual tickets.

In this article, we never post a ticket with shorter than +700 odds, meaning that we only need to hit once each week to be profitable. Overall, these plays are 89-71-1 (57.5%) if played as straight wagers, many of which have been significant alt-lines, even as individual tickets.

Below, we break down our favorite longshot (+766) look for August 16, focusing on today’s matchup between the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers!

MLB Parlay Piece for August 16, 2023

Clayton Kershaw u5.5 Strikeouts (+120)

Since August 1, the Milwaukee Brewers have had the 9th-lowest strikeout rate of any team in the league against left-handed pitching. Dating back to June 9, 10 of the 13 southpaw starting pitchers to face the Brewers have gone under their pre-game market number for strikeouts, according to props.cash. In his one start since returning from the injured list, Clayton Kershaw had only four strikeouts against the undisciplined Colorado Rockies. At plus money, this is a worthwhile risk for bettors.

Freddie Freeman 3+ Total Bases (+185)

Freddie Freeman is currently in the midst of one of his worst slumps of the season, having gone hitless in three consecutive games entering play on Wednesday. The last time he had three consecutive hitless performances was in late April, which was nearly four months ago. When Freeman finally snapped that hitless streak, he had a two-hit performance, including a double. Facing a soft-tossing left-handed pitcher tonight, Freeman is well-positioned to break out of this mini-slump.

Amed Rosario to record a Hit (-240)

Amed Rosario has been borderline unplayable against right-handed pitching in 2023. Still, he has been excellent against left-handed pitching – posting a .304 batting average, .838 OPS, and a 128 wRC+. Since being acquired by the Los Angeles Dodgers, Rosario has recorded a hit in 12 of his 15 games played, having been used in better situations. Tonight, Rosario will once again see a southpaw – trust him to get the job done for us as part of this parlay.
