Lucky for NFL fans, Week 10 of Monday Night Football will not follow the theme of lackluster matchups that has been consistent throughout the NFL season. This week, the undefeated San Francisco 49ers host MVP favorite Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks. While the 49ers are favored by nearly a touchdown at home, bettors expect a close game with 60% of bets backing the Seahawks.
Injuries in the Bay
The 49ers have gotten this far without losing a game, in large part, thanks to one of the best defenses in the league led by a ferocious pass rush that is sacking quarterbacks on 11.32% of dropbacks. A key component to the defensive unit’s success has been Kwon Alexander, who the 49ers will be without for the first time all season after Alexander suffered a pectoral injury against the Arizona Cardinals. Alexander accounted for 34 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and two forced turnovers through eight games.
Most notably, San Francisco’s offense will likely be without Pro Bowl tight end George Kittle on Monday. Kittle is listed as doubtful with unspecified injuries to his leg. If Kittle does, in fact, sit this one out, second-year tight end Ross Dwelley will be called upon to take his place. Dwelley makes a good DFS play in Showdown contests Monday night.

My Monday Night Football Betting Picks – Seahawks at 49ers
The 49ers haven’t tripped up yet, but injuries to both the offense and defense will make it tough for the 49ers to cover the spread Monday night. I think the loss of Alexander is going way underlooked. Additionally, the Seahawks will be adding pieces to a roster that has already won seven of their first nine games. On Sunday, Pete Carroll said Josh Gordon, who was picked up on waivers less than two weeks ago, had a “good chance of playing” and that defensive back Quandre Diggs was ready to go.
Not only will I take the Seahawks +6.5, but I’ll also take the Under. As stated earlier, the line has moved 2.5 points, from 45 to 47.5. The absence of Alexander does lead me to believe the Seahawks will have more opportunities to put up points, but both teams are near the bottom in terms of pace; the 49ers are 27th and the Seahawks are 21st. With Kittle likely sidelined, the Seahawks will be able to devote more attention to stopping Emmanuel Sanders and the running game, not to mention the presence of Quandre Diggs certainly won’t hurt.

As I touch on in Week 10 NFL Monday Night Football prop bets and picks over at NJ.com, I really like the way this sets up for Emmanuel Sanders. Sanders will be Garoppolo’s no. 1 target if Kittle sits out. I also don’t think it’s too far fetched for the Seahawks to be leading this game, which would force more passes on behalf of Kyle Shanahan’s somewhat run-heavy offense. Moreover, the Seahawks secondary has been an easy target through the air. Mike Evans most recently went for 12 receptions and 180 yards. Prior to that, Julio Jones put up 10-152 stat line, and Odell (player-popup #odell-beckham)Beckham Jr went for 6-101.
