NBA Best Bets Today – Wednesday, November 15

Milwaukee Bucks at Toronto Raptors (+2)

According to Cleaning the Glass, the Milwaukee Bucks rank in the 69th percentile in offensive efficiency and the 56th percentile in defensive efficiency this season with Giannis Antetokounmpo on the floor. They regress to the 16th percentile in offensive efficiency and the 1st percentile in defensive efficiency when Antetokounmpo is off of the floor. They rank in only the 5th percentile in Net Rating when Damian Lillard is on the floor without Antetokounmpo. The Toronto Raptors will be without O.G. Anunoby this evening as he recovers from a right finger injury, but they still have more than enough resources to be competitive on their home floor in this spot. This is likely to be a competitive contest, but one that the Raptors are able to win.

Minnesota Timberwolves (+5.5) at Phoenix Suns

The Minnesota Timberwolves continue to get very little respect at sportsbooks despite the fact that they own the 3rd-best Net Rating of any team in basketball heading into Wednesday’s action. The Phoenix Suns have not had their entire core together for very many minutes to begin the new campaign, which makes it unlikely that they are firing on all cylinders this evening with Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, and Kevin Durant each on the floor together. The Timberwolves are allowing the fewest points per 100 possessions of any team in the league this year, which should help them stay competitive until the final buzzer in this matchup. It would not be surprising to see Minnesota win outright, even on the second night of a tough back-to-back set.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Portland Trail Blazers (+10.5)

It is difficult to understand how the Cleveland Cavaliers can be a double-digit favorite against anyone at this point in the season, let alone in a game across the country on the road. Cleveland enters play on Wednesday ranked 21st in Net Rating, having been outscored by 3.0 points per 100 possessions. The Portland Trail Blazers are unquestionably an inferior team in this matchup, but they rank 10th in defensive efficiency on their home floor so far this year and have one of the best perimeter defenses in the entire league through their first nine games, ranking 5th in opponent three-point percentage. Portland should be able to do enough to keep this contest competitive tonight. A sprinkle on the moneyline here is not a bad idea either.
