NBA Betting Picks for Today: Nets at 76ers

The Nets entered the All-Star break in great form. It has a been a rough season for the most bark, but after a tough stretch the Nets have gone 7-3 in their last 10 games and currently sit 7th in the Eastern Conference with a record of 25-28. While they got some bad news that Kyrie Irving is out indefinitely, they’re facing the possibility that their best player’s season may in fact be over. Despite that, the Nets have rallied while dealing with adversity. They’re currently firing on all cylinders, with wins against the Raptors and the Pacers leading up to the All-Star break.

The big difference-maker for this team seems to be Caris Levert playing more minutes and earning a spot in the starting lineup. With Levert as a starter, the Nets have gone 4-1, and he is averaging over 22 points per game. The Nets have had some pretty drastic home/road splits this season going 9-16 straight up and 10-15 ATS on the road this season compared to 16-12 straight up and ATS at home. Even with a boost from Levert, the Nets face a tough challenge against the Philadelphia 76ers Thursday night in their first game back.

The 76ers currently sit 5th in the Eastern Conference with a record of 34-21. The Sixers have not been great over the last 10 games, going just 5-5. During that span, Philadelphia actually went 5-0 at home and 0-5 on the road. No team in the league has had as drastic home/road splits as the 76ers, who have gone 25-2 straight up and 15-10-2 ATS at home compared to 9-19 straight up and a league-worst 7-19-2 ATS on the road. For some reason, the 76ers have been a completely different team at home for the majority of the season. One of the big problems the 76ers had before the trade deadline was a lack of good scorers who can create their own shot. Along with their scoring deficiencies, Philly lacked depth off the bench, but they did add Alec Burks who I believe will help them greatly down the stretch.

NBA Betting Picks: Philladelphia 76ers -8 and Under 215.5

Even with the great recent play of the Nets, I think the 76ers are the much better play here. They came into the All-Star break on a three-game winning streak, and as we already alluded to, they are much more comfortable playing at home. I think getting multiple days of rest will be beneficial as they’ve struggled with injuries all season long, and the addition of Burks will help the Sixers get some offense off the bench, which they desperately need.
