NBA Crossover Review: Wednesday, March 6th

The Grinder review series will provide the reader with a breakdown of the exposures of “top of the leaderboard” players, the top single-entry lineup, and a comparison between all single entry lineups and professionals for Wednesday slate GPPs.

This week we looked at the $140k Crossover [$15k to 1st!] on DraftKings with a buy-in of $27.

Multi-Entry Grinders of the Game

Aejones & Assani combined for only six entries, but both entered the solid chalk core of Ramon Sessions, James Harden, Paul George, Thomas Robinson, and Alexis Ajinca. From there, they mixed in several mid-tier options in great matchups or increased usage roles. Kyrie’s usage and FP/min increases heavily with LeBron out, the Washington backcourt needed to fill the void of John Wall, and Enes Kanter becomes an elite play when seeing more than 20min court-time (Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and Serge Ibaka out resting).

What needs to be said for SaahilSud? He continually tops leaderboards and absolutely dominated this weeks Crossover. While following much of the same core from aejones & Assani, he locked in Ramon Sessions, James Harden, and Thomas Robinson at a near 100% clip. Nailing most of the great mid-tier plays of the day in Isaiah Thomas (Turner out; gravy match-up), Bradley Beal (Wall out; great match-up), Enes Kanter (elite per-36, just needed minutes; Westy/Durant/Ibaka out), Andre Drummond (depressed price, high floor, high ceiling, and good match-up), and Marcin Gortat (Wall/Thad/BroLo out) forced him into a 61% cash rate with 4 of the top 10 lineups (taking 1st place).

Single-Entry Winner of the Game

Wieties49 followed much of the same moves previously discussed and did not need to take any obscure or highly boom or bust players in order to secure a 2nd place finish. Maurice Harkless had already been finding his own within the Blazers’ starting lineup since late March and continued to dominate in a high scoring game with the Thunder reserves, while a slumping and under-owned Isaiah Thomas flashed his brilliance against a injury-plagued Pelicans squad.

Single-Entry vs. aejones/Assani/SaahilSud

Out of 5,959 entries in the Crossover, 1,757 of those entries (29.5%) were entered courtesy of players using a single bullet. The table below compares the exposures of those single entries to the exposures of aejones, Assani, SaahilSud, and 25 other top professionals picked off of RotoGrinders’ leaderboard:
