NBA Daily Plays: Feb. 13, 2014
We only have 2 games on the NBA schedule tonight, but with a 4 day break for All-Star weekend, now is your last chance to get in on some daily fantasy basketball for the next few days. Today’s daily plays will be an abbreviated version that will feature my favorite plays at each position.
POINT GUARD
- Kendall Marshall – Tonight, the Lakers will be without Steve Nash, Jordan Farmar, Jodie Meeks, Kobe Bryant, Nick Young, and Xavier Henry. Marshall and Blake are the only active guards on the Lakers’ roster. They should both see all the minutes they can handle tonight. Marshall has a nice matchup against the Thunder who have given up the 5th most FP’s to opposing PG’s this season.
SHOOTING GUARD

- Jimmy Butler – I was tempted to put Steve Blake here, but Butler is a little bit cheaper and offers similar upside. Butler has been averaging around 40 minutes per game since the Deng trade and that’s never a bad thing in DFS. The Nets have really struggled to defend SG’s this season as they have given up the 4th most FP’s of any team to that position this season. Butler should be a lock for 25+ FP’s tonight.
SMALL FORWARD
- Kevin Durant – This pick isn’t going to come as a surprise. Durant is usually the top SF option on a night with 10 games and he’s easily the top option at SF tonight with only 2 games. He is facing a Lakers team that not only plays with one of the fastest paces in the league, but also has one of the worst defenses in the league. Durant should be on all rosters tonight. I wouldn’t try to outsmart everyone by fading him as it will likely end up costing you.
POWER FORWARD

- Serge Ibaka – Taj Gibson is also worth a mention here, but it sounds like Carlos Boozer may suit up for tonight’s game. If Boozer does get ruled out, Taj makes a great play once again. Ibaka also makes a great play tonight, the Lakers are not a good rebounding team and have given up more FP’s than any team to opposing PF’s. Ibaka has really picked up his play of late and he should head into the All-Star break with another solid game.
CENTER
- Joakim Noah – Noah will get a nice fantasy boost tonight if Boozer can’t go, but his value doesn’t really go down as much as Gibson’s if Boozer suits up. Noah is coming off of one of his best fantasy performances of the season against the Hawks and he should be able to keep it going tonight against the Nets who may be without their best interior defender (Garnett). He’s easily the best center option on the board tonight.
Enjoy the All-Star break, we will be back with the usual full slate of content on Tuesday!
