NBA DFS Core Plays LIVE: Monday, December 26th
Andy Means (meansy53) will be bringing Premium subscribers his top NBA DFS plays to build around for the upcoming slate. A former Duke basketball walk-on, Meansy will also give you his thoughts on the slate as a whole from a macro perspective. On weekends, the GPP maestro you all know and love, STLCards, takes the reins. And on this rare occasion, we have Noto at the helm.
GENERAL SLATE THOUGHTS
11:45 AM ET: We have some news rolling in early today, which is always preferred over the late rush close to lineup lock. The Pelicans have ruled out Herb Jones and have listed Zion Williamson as doubtful. Brandon Ingram is still out, while Larry Nance, Trey Murphy, and Dyson Daniels are questionable. With a favorable matchup at home against the Pacers, be prepared to see a lot of Pelicans in your builds in LineupHQ.
The Heat have ruled out Bam Adebayo, which is obviously big news for the slate. Jimmy Butler is still questionable, but would see big usage and FP/min boosts if active.
The Pistons have downgraded Marvin Bagley to questionable.
10:15 AM ET: I hope everyone had the merriest of Christmases yesterday. I, for one, did not foresee Baker Mayfield and the Rams putting up 51 points against the Broncos. Luckily, we had a great slate of basketball games. This is my first time writing the NBA Core Plays article and based on what I have read over the years, this article is about breaking down the slate and having some fun while doing it. I’m not going to lie, I’m looking forward to a little change of pace from the NBA Grind Down, which can certainly live up to its name on large slates.
Before we get into today’s slate, I have a genuine question — who are these people spending their hard-earned money on terrible horror movies? I was up late playing Santa Claus on Christmas Eve and spent the entire day trying to make Christmas as amazing as possible for my seven-year old. I finally got a chance to relax and watch some sports last night and every time there’s a commercial break, I see a preview for a movie called M3GAN. From what I can tell, this is some sort of life-like doll that is programmed to destroy humans and be as creepy as possible in the process. Not to age myself here, but yeah, “that’s a no from me dawg.”
Am I crazy here? If I’m watching a show or a movie, I want one of three things — I want to feel happy, I want to laugh, or I want some action/suspense. The next time I watch a horror movie will be the first time since I was a teenager trying to get a girl to cuddle with me. Is there really any other point to these movies? Who is actually looking forward to watching a movie about a murderous doll? I feel the same way about haunted houses. If you are on a first date and trying to play the protector role, I suppose I understand. Or if you are 14 and with a group of friends, yeah, sure. My brain can’t compute any other logical reason.
