Want to hit the nuts and take down 1st place in these massive contests posted by FanDuel and DraftKings? Who better to walk you through their favorite NBA DFS picks than Squirrelpatrol! Undoubtedly one of the best DFS players in the game today, Squirrelpatrol has accumulated 90+ Live Final seats, won the FanDuel 2021 World Fantasy Basketball Championship for $500,000, and most recently, took down the NFL Milly Maker in Week 2.

Tuesday night brings a 6-game slate with a wide range of game totals and one big injury situation in Miami. The first two games tip off at 7:30 PM ET, with Oklahoma City visiting Orlando (OKC -2.5, 223) and Boston in Brooklyn against the Nets (BOS -9, 227.5). Kristaps Porzingis is listed as questionable for the Celtics, but otherwise, the early window doesn’t have any major changes due to injuries.

At 8:00 PM ET, we see Miami travel to Milwaukee (MIL -8.5, 222.5), and this is the major spot for value on the night, as Jimmy Butler is out for Miami and Duncan Robinson is questionable. The Heat are already adjusting without Kyle Lowry and Terry Rozier, so several Heat are appearing as major value plays up and down the price list, and the status of Robinson is surprisingly impactful.

We then get a two-hour break until the two games at 10:00 PM ET, with Minnesota in Portland (MIN -9, 213.5) and Sacramento in Phoenix (PHX -5, 245). Scoot Henderson is questionable for Portland, and Trey Lyles is questionable for Sacramento, which could impact the slate with how little value we have to work with.

The final game of the night tips off at 10:30 PM ET, as Detroit visits the Lakers (LAL -10.5, 241.5). Anthony Davis and LeBron James are getting their typical questionable tags, which they always play through unless they don’t. I’ll be planning as though both are in and doing my best to adjust if we get the unusual occurrence of one of them being declared out after lock.

Let’s sort through the slate and figure out what to do with our DFS lineups.

NBA DFS Lineup Advice: Squirrelpatrol’s ‘Hittin’ The Nuts’ (February 13th)

High Flyers

Who are the players I’m picking first for my squad? These guys are the first selections for both my cash game and tournament lineups, and I’ll sacrifice elsewhere, if need be, to ensure I get them in:

Bam Adebayo
FanDuel: $9,000
DraftKings: $8,300

All of the Heat players should see a bump with Butler off the court, but Bam leads Miami with 1.25 DK points per minute with Butler, Lowry, and Rozier off the court this season. Milwaukee allows the 9th-fewest 3PM this season but the 10th-most points in the paint per game, giving Bam the relatively better matchup than the Miami perimeter players. The value tonight is relatively thin, and I may end up under the field on Miami players in general (I’m expecting them to draw very high ownership), but Bam shows up as the best player on the team in my eyes. Optimal lineups are generally spitting out four or more Heat players (with Duncan Robinson assumed in); I’ll likely use at least a Milwaukee player in the same lineup if I’m using four Miami players.

Cade Cunningham
FanDuel: $8,400
DraftKings: $7,800

Cunningham has been playing full minutes for the Pistons since returning in late January after missing 3 weeks with an injury. Over 4 February games, Cunningham is averaging more assists per game (8.3) and less turnovers (2.3) than any other month this season. Tonight, the Pistons are playing a Lakers team that plays at the 6th-fastest pace in the NBA in the game with the 2nd-highest point total on the slate. The Lakers have been playing even faster lately (3rd in pace over each team’s past 10 games), so I’m surprised to see Cunningham coming in with lower projected ownership priced in the mid-range on a slate with such thin value, but I’ll gladly get over the field.

Site Specialists

Just like a good 3-and-D small forward, sometimes a player fits the specific need we have on the specific site we’re playing on. These are the guys that stand out on one particular site:
