Hittin' The Nuts with Squirrelpatrol - Tuesday, February 6th

HittinTheNuts

Want to hit the nuts and take down 1st place in these massive contests posted by FanDuel and DraftKings? Who better to walk you through their favorite NBA DFS picks than Squirrelpatrol! Undoubtedly one of the best DFS players in the game today, Squirrelpatrol has accumulated 90+ Live Final seats, won the FanDuel 2021 World Fantasy Basketball Championship for $500,000, and most recently, took down the NFL Milly Maker in Week 2.

We have a larger-than-average Tuesday slate tonight with a total of 7 NBA games, although the sites have handled things a bit differently, with DraftKings leaving off the last game of the night (MIL/PHO). Both sites tip things off at 7:00 PM ET with HOU-IND (IND -8.5, 244.5), where Tyrese Haliburton is listed as questionable but tentatively expected to play limited minutes, and Fred VanVleet is out with an adductor strain. We get three more games at 7:30 PM ET with Orlando in Miami (MIA -3, 213.5), Memphis visiting the Knicks (NYK – 14.5, 212.5), and Dallas in Brooklyn (DAL -4, 236.5). Memphis continues to deal with major injuries as Santi Aldama, John Konchar, and Vince Williams are all questionable (along with a large number of players previously out), and Luka Doncic is listed as questionable for Dallas.

At 8:00 PM ET Minnesota visits the Bulls in Chicago (MIN -5.5, 217) where Alex Caruso is listed as questionable, and an hour later at 9:00 PM ET the Thunder are in Utah (OKC -3.0, 239.5) with Cason Wallace, Jalen Williams, and Jaylen Williams questionable for OKC. The DraftKings slate ends there, but FanDuel gives us the option of the 10:00 PM ET game where Milwaukee visits Phoenix (PHO -4.0, 243) and Brook Lopez and Damian Lillard are questionable.

Let’s sort through the rest of the slate and figure out what to do with our DFS lineups.

NBA DFS Lineup Advice: Squirrelpatrol’s ‘Hittin’ The Nuts’ (February 6th)

High Flyers

Who are the players I’m picking first for my squad? These guys are the first selections for both my cash game and tournament lineups, and I’ll sacrifice elsewhere, if need be, to ensure I get them in:

Alperen Sengun
FanDuel: $9,200
DraftKings: $9,000

The absence of Fred VanVleet is probably the most impactful injury situation that we know about currently, with a number of Rockets players getting a boost without VanVleet. Sengun leads the Rockets with 49.8 DK points per 36 minutes with VanVleet off the court this season, a +0.8 increase from his season average. The matchup for Sengun is excellent as well, with the Pacers allowing the most points in the paint in the NBA this season and Sengun ranking 6th in the NBA with 15.1 points in the paint per game, just above Joel Embiid in that category. I don’t always like eating the chalk with players who are only center-eligible, but Sengun is in an excellent spot tonight against Indiana.

Donte DiVincenzo
FanDuel: $7,600
DraftKings: $7,400

We’re getting into the true injury and trade deadline portion of the NBA season as Donte DiVincenzo has been promoted from Bench Mob to Glue Guy to High Flyer in this article throughout the course of the season. Over the past 4 games without Julius Randle and OG Anunoby, DiVincenzo has averaged 26.8 points, 4 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game, while playing just under 40 minutes per game. This game has a 14-point spread, but I’m less concerned than I normally would be about DiVincenzo playing limited minutes since Quentin Grimes is also out. DiVincenzo has seen his price increase by $2,000 on FD and $1,500 on DK, but that’s still not high enough for a player putting up DiVincenzo’s numbers.
