NBA DFS Lineup Advice Today

We have a relatively large 8-game slate on Tuesday night, even with the last game of the NBA night (PHX/DEN) being cut off the main slate on both FanDuel and DraftKings.

Things tip off at 7:00 PM ET when Orlando visits Charlotte, but even with Markelle Fultz resting for Orlando, I may de-prioritize this first game with so much injury news pending for the later games.

At 7:30 PM ET we see five of the 8 games on the slate tip-off. Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis are questionable for Boston as they face Cleveland. Jalen Brunson is questionable for the Knicks after a scary-looking injury as they face Atlanta at home. Cam Payne is questionable with an illness for Philadelphia as they face Brooklyn, and that is suddenly a significant piece of injury news with Tyrese Maxey out for this game. Detroit faces Miami in this window with Tyler Herro and Kevin Love still out for Miami, while Toronto will be playing at home without Scottie Barnes or Jakob Poeltl against New Orleans.

The rest of the slate happens in Texas starting at 8:00 PM ET when San Antonio faces Houston with Victor Wembanyama listed as questionable. Then at 8:30 PM ET the Pacers travel to Dallas to face the Mavs with Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber, and Derrick Jones questionable for Dallas and Aaron Nesmith questionable for Indiana. These two injury situations could be tricky if either Wemby or Luka are still questionable heading into lock, with limited options to swap to if either is declared out.

Let’s sort through the slate and figure out what to do with our DFS lineups.

Top NBA DFS Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel

High Flyers

Who are the players I’m picking first for my squad? These guys are the first selections for both my cash game and tournament lineups, and I’ll sacrifice elsewhere, if need be, to ensure I get them in:

Tobias Harris
FanDuel: $7,400
DraftKings: $7,200

Tyrese Maxey getting declared out with Joel Embiid already recovering from his injury puts Tobias Harris in a position as the main player on offense for Philadelphia facing Brooklyn tonight. Harris averages 35.5 DK points per 36 minutes on the season, but with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey off the court (along with Patrick Beverley and Marcus Morris) Harris averages 46.4 DK points per 36 minutes in 104 minutes. He was a bit underpriced coming in today, but with Maxey now out, he vaults to one of the best plays on the slate.

Alperen Sengun
FanDuel: $8,200
DraftKings: $8,200

Alperen Sengun vs Bam Adebayo could be a key decision on this slate with both players carrying center-only eligibility and Sengun $8,200 on both sites compared to Adebayo’s $8,400 price tag on both sites. I’ll side with the savings and take Sengun, who I like better from a raw points perspective, regardless of price. Sengun is in a sneaky good spot tonight, and it gets even better if Victor Wembanyama misses tonight’s game. San Antonio allows the 6th-most points and 3rd-most rebounds per game on the season, and over their past 10 games, they are allowing the 3rd-most points in the paint per game in the NBA. Houston is a 7.5-point favorite at home tonight, and I’ll be giving Sengun a bump up in projection, particularly if it looks like Wembanyama will sit.

Site Specialists

Just like a good 3-and-D small forward, sometimes a player fits the specific need we have on the specific site we’re playing on. These are the guys that stand out on one particular site:
