I had a solid slate on Thursday night. I locked in the 3 guards from the Bulls that I mentioned doing here in this article and on Crunch Time, then I brought it back with Cam Thomas. The real difference-maker for me was Brook Lopez, who ended up having a ceiling game. He was the favorite GPP play for both Will and me on the show. I’ll be back on Crunch Time tonight at 6:20 PM ET with Kevin Roth and Chris “Beermakersfan” Prince. They are two of my favorites, so join us live if you can.

We are taking the boys to the Jazz game tonight. While we don’t expect them to win or be very competitive, they are the good tickets that come with dinner and drinks. My dad’s work does trade with the sports teams around here, so he hooks us up when he can. This might sound bad, but free dinner and drinks are really the only way to get me to drive an hour to go to a Jazz game these days. It sounds like I’m not excited, but it should be a great time. The boys love trying to get up on the jumbotron and looking for the Jazz mascot.

1:20 PM ET

Clint Capela has been ruled out for the Hawks. Onyeka Okongwu is a tad more appealing, but I don’t love the matchup. Pascal Siakam is now questionable for the Pacers.

Team Previews

Boston Celtics (at MIA)

We kick the slate off with the Celtics, who have some key injuries to monitor. Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Derrick White, and Kristaps Porzingis are all questionable. This is a tough matchup on the road, and the Celtics come into the game with a team total that is 6 points lower than their season average.

Ultimately, there’s nothing we can do with Boston until we get an update on their injury situation. If everyone is active, they become one of the easiest teams to fade. If two or three of their key players end up being out, then they become a strong team to target on this large slate.

Miami Heat (vs. BOS)

The Heat have a difficult draw at home against the Celtics and come into the game with a team total that is 7 points lower than their season average. Alec Burks, Nikola Jovic, and Dru Smith have all been ruled out.

I’m not looking to target the Heat in this matchup with so many other games on the schedule. This is one of the worst game environments on the slate.
