A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career and has long been one of the top NBA DFS minds in the industry. On weekends, Taylor Smith takes the reins. Their Core Plays LIVE article will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, Core Plays LIVE has everything you need for your DraftKings and FanDuel lineups.
Happy Thursday!
We have a lighter schedule on tap tonight, as there are only 6 games on the docket. I will be on GrindersLive with Dean tonight, which starts at 6:00 PM ET. I’ll be on one of the two NBA shows most Thursdays and Fridays. It’s tough to update this article while being on the show, so I will post a link to the show in the News Updates section when we go live. Rather than leaning on this article for last-minute advice, join us on the show.
Both sites are rolling out a 6-game main slate, which is always music to my ears. Let’s dive right into the team previews.

Team Previews
Dallas Mavericks (at BOS)
We kick off the slate with the Mavericks, who have made quite a splash in the trade market over the last week. In their first game without Luka Doncic, they gave up 50 points to the Cavaliers in the 1st quarter. Then they lost to the shorthanded Mavericks in the next game. Dallas fans aren’t happy, and I don’t blame them. They have a tough matchup against the Celtics, who are 25th in pace and 5th in points allowed per game. The Mavericks have a team total that is 5 points lower than their season average. Dereck Lively, PJ Washington, and Dwight Powell are all out, while Anthony Davis is questionable. Even on a small slate, there aren’t any plays that stand out on the Mavericks. There’s not a single player with a positive RGValue, but we do have Kyrie Irving in a revenge game without Doncic. He’s at least somewhat interesting.
Boston Celtics (vs. DAL)
The Celtics are 11-point favorites against the Mavericks, who have been a slightly favorable matchup for fantasy production. The Celtics have a team total that is 3 points higher than their season average. Jrue Holiday is the only notable player on the injury report. He is listed as questionable. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are both strong spends, especially in tournaments. I love a good narrative, so I will be chasing the revenge narrative with Kristaps Porzingis. He’s facing his former team and has topped 42 fantasy points in 3 of his last 4 games. If Holiday is out, Derrick White and Payton Pritchard will see an uptick.
