The Bucks and Thunder both advanced to the final four of the NBA Cup with wins last night. Two spots are remaining, and both will be filled by the winners of tonight’s two games. The Hawks will face the Knicks, and the Warriors will face the Rockets. As mentioned yesterday, there’s a lot on the line. Each member of the winning team will get $500,000.

You’ve got the usual suspects—Giannis, Luka, KD—but the real DFS fun is finding those sneaky value plays who could snag a piece of that sweet prize money. Because let’s face it, the NBA Cup might not be bringing home a ring, but it’s definitely padding someone’s wallet tonight.

Team Previews

Atlanta Hawks (at NYK)

We kick the slate off with the Hawks, who have provided some of the best game environments for fantasy production this season. However, they face the polar opposite of themselves tonight, as the Knicks are 26th in pace, 10th in points allowed per game, and 7th in rebounding rate. The Hawks are 7-point underdogs and have a team total that is 2 points below their season average. They have six players listed as questionable, but the ones we need to monitor are Jalen Johnson and Bogdan Bogdanovic.

There is a decent amount of value in the second game of the slate, so building through Trae Young is certainly an option in tournaments. He could push for around 40 minutes and has topped 50 fantasy points in 4 of his last 9 games. Personally, I am prioritizing another superstar from this game. Dyson Daniels is having a great season, but it’s tough to pay a premium for him in this matchup. Clint Capela is still cheap (especially on FanDuel) and has topped 35 fantasy points in 4 of his last 9 games. On DraftKings, we have Onyeka Okongwu projected for the same amount of minutes (24) with a $1,000 cheaper price point.

My interest in the rest of the roster hinges on the availability of both Johnson and Bogdanovic. I’ll provide an update once we know their availability.
