NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, November 1st

Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?

Notorious: Anthony Davis (FD) / RJ Barrett (DK)
Dean78904: Anthony Davis
tcsmith031: Anthony Davis
TJ Zwarych: Zion Williamson (FD) / Anthony Davis (DK)

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Notorious: I love small-field and single-entry tournaments. You don’t have to be perfect in these tournaments, and I don’t mind eating the chalk when I think it’s good chalk. Thanks to injuries, Jose Alvarado and Luke Kornet project as two of the best point-per-dollar options on the slate. I plan to use them in every lineup. In terms of getting different from the field, I like the idea of being overweight on two superstars in particular that have low ownership projections: Jayson Tatum and Cade Cunningham.

Dean78904: As per usual, I will be focusing on single-entry-type contests. This is shaping up to be a stars-and-scrubs slate with all the value plays available (Jose Alvarado, Jonathan Isaac, Zaccharie Risacher, Luke Kornet, etc.). If you are in the MME streets, I can see working in some more balanced lineups to be different (in the hopes that some cheap, popular value pieces don’t get there), but I just don’t think I’m going to get there in the smaller contests I focus on. I’d be lying if I said I 100% knew my plan of attack. Truthfully, it is kind of impossible and silly to lock in a strategy so early when you consider the fluidity of NBA news and how much the trickle-down affects. For now, I’m tinkering with the idea of building my main team around a LAL/TOR mini game stack, with Anthony Davis and RJ Barrett being my favorite targets on each team.

tcsmith031: This looks like a solid slate for large-field GPPs, so I’ll probably stick with 20-max/150-max tournaments. We have some clear-cut values thanks to a rash of injuries to teams like the Magic, Celtics, Hawks, and Pelicans. Rather than honing in on jamming the same 2-3 cheap plays into every lineup, I’ll try to spread my exposure to include some of the lower-owned plays on those teams who could go overlooked. One pivot I really like is to take shots on Moritz Wagner, who’s currently projected to pull significantly less pOWN% than Jonathan Isaac despite comparable minutes projections.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll only be playing 1-3 lineups as opposed to my typical 20-entry max or 150-entry max because I won’t be able to pay close attention after lock and be ready to late swap. However, if I were playing more lineups, I’d be going heavily overweight on Jose Alvarado, Luke Kornet, Zaccharie Risacher, and David Roddy as salary savers. Then I’d be going underweight on the super chalky Jonathan Isaac. This will be my strategy in single-entry and 3-entry max tournaments as well. Anthony Davis and Zion Williamson are my priority spend-ups.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
