What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field tournaments. This early in the season, there are a ton of good plays that get overlooked, whether it’s because they don’t project as well or they didn’t play well in their first game of the season. This is the best time of the season to stray away from the chalk in at least a few spots in your lineups.
tcsmith031: I’ll focus on large-field, multi-entry GPPs. I won’t take a hard stance on the Cavaliers either way, likely coming in around the field on guys like Evan Mobley and Donovan Mitchell. I think there’s pretty severe blowout risk in this game against the lowly Nets, and we know the Cavs won’t hesitate to limit their starters’ minutes at any opportunity. I’m a huge fan of targeting the main pieces from the Magic in what looks like a terrific matchup against a Hawks team that yielded 86 paint points to Toronto in the season opener. I likely won’t play them in the same lineup, but both Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner are capable of breaking the slate in this spot.
ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – I’ll play some game stacks but with no more than 3 players from a single team in any lineup. I’ll pay close attention to the NBA injury report and any changes in NBA starting lineups, as it’s a Friday night and people might not late swap as much as they should.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
