NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, April 20
Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?
Notorious: Nikola Jokic (FD) / Jalen Brunson (DK)
headChopper: Nikola Jokic
TJ Zwarych: Nikola Jokic
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I am going to play 1 lineup on each site. The pricing is very different between FanDuel and DraftKings, which creates different roster construction on each site. On DraftKings, I love the idea of building a balanced lineup. Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, Aaron Gordon, Rudy Gobert, and CJ McCollum all feel underpriced. On FanDuel, I will likely spend all the way up for Nikola Jokic and then fill in the rest of my lineup around him.
headChopper: I am playing 1 lineup on both sites, primarily in small-field and single-entry tournaments. In my opinion, it feels very safe to go with a midrange build and load the lineup with solid scoring options, which would mean avoiding Nikola Jokic and that preposterous salary on both sites. But he is the one player on this small slate who can easily leave you drawing dead if he has even a decent game by his standards, so I’ll probably play him and take a chance on finding tonight’s version of Bruce Brown – a low-dollar option that wins a tournament out of nowhere. Mitchell Robinson, Collin Murray-Boyles, and Tim Hardaway Jr. are all in that category for me.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll just be playing 1 single-entry lineup, and I’m going to build around Anthony Edwards and Jamal Murray. I’ll go to the Knicks for value, but I’ll mostly be avoiding the Raptors, Cavaliers, and Hawks. I’d love to get to Nikola Jokic, but I’ll likely stick to the mid-range as much as possible.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
