NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, February 2

Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?

Notorious: Alperen Sengun
headChopper: Alperen Sengun
TJ Zwarych: Alperen Sengun

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Notorious: I prefer small-field tournaments. My plan of attack is to eat the chalk on the Rockets (Alperen Sengun and Reed Sheppard) and then to keep a couple of roster spots open to potentially take advantage of the late injury news. This is pure speculation on my part, but I get the feeling that if James Harden is back (personal), Kawhi Leonard will rest in the back-to-back. And if Harden is out, Leonard will likely suit up. I’m going into the slate with the assumption that one is out and that I will play the other. This is a bit easier on DraftKings, as you can keep the UTIL open.

headChopper: With such a small slate spread out over several hours, I just want to play one lineup in small-field contests. Even though Houston has popped in value with Kevin Durant out, not all of their players are in the same tier for me because of the matchup. Indiana has been a serious inside funnel this season that suppresses 3-point production, so I want to be well overweight on Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson while staying underweight on players who rely primarily on 3-pointers to hit their ceiling. I’m also planning to be overweight on Minnesota’s 3-point shooters.

TJ Zwarych: I plan to play one lineup in single-entry contests, and a lot of my lineup construction depends on the news in Minnesota. I like them regardless and plan to mostly target them and the Rockets, but if Anthony Edwards and/or Julius Randle don’t play, Minnesota becomes a true lock-and-load spot. I know I’ll be getting to Naz Reid and Alperen Sengun, but how much more of those teams I get depends on injury news.
