What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field and single-entry tournaments. Given the size of the slate, there should be a ton of value available at the time of slate lock. This might force many into the stars-and-scrubs type of roster construction. However, all of my favorite plays are priced in the midrange. I’m hoping a balanced build is all I need to be a little different in the types of contests that I like to play.
headChopper: I am playing multi-entry (probably 20 lineups or so) in large-field contests. It’s early, and value could still open up and shift the slate, but as of now, I may not roster any of the top four projected players (who are also the most expensive). Due to matchup, scheduling, or blowout concerns, I can see myself fading Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Jayson Tatum.
Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. I tried this on Friday (unsuccessfully), but I once again plan on coming in under the field on the good Raptors (Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley, and RJ Barrett). The matchup is appealing, but I just don’t trust Toronto enough to not shave minutes from their stars mid-game when considering the presumed heavy pOWN% they will receive. This is a 10-game slate, meaning there are a slew of alternative, less populated paths, which I’m happy to take.
ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – It’s a giant slate, but every game starts within an hour of lock. It will be extremely important to stay on top of the news, adjusting lineups close to the start of each new game period to capture as much of the news as possible.
